Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now Hey guys. I have a problem I cannot get around & it's starting to bug me. Trying to reset the time service on a windows 7 domain member. MS says to reset with default values: net stop w32time; w32tm /unregister w32tm /register; net start w32time The problem is I try error 5 this & constantly get access denied errors. I tried an elevated prompt (domain admin), no go. Thought it might be because it's a domain member, remove from domain, still no. Take ownership of drive, full control propagated down - no difference at all. I ran the command on our 2k3 Ent. server & it worked without any problems though! It's just the Windows 7 clients. Any suggestions? Thanks folks. Using powershell? some other scripting (batch or .CMD file?) I have found that each of these behaves slightly differently with regard to the credentials it uses and how you have to explicitly use them. Have you investigated the Event Viewer, specifically the Security Windows Logs? Are there any Audit Failures? 0 Mace OP Texkonc Apr 6, 2011 at 10:31 UTC Iain-NIX wrote: need to be an elevated prompt from either local admin account Yup, right click and run as admin. 0 Datil OP Gearhead89 Apr 6, 2011 at 12:30 UTC Texkonc wrote: Iain-NIX wrote: need to be an elevated prompt from either local admin account Yup, right click and run as admin. +2 0 Datil OP Robert.P Apr 7, 2
