The network path was not found" message https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc940100.aspx ? When i try to access a physical resource on my network (server or computer) with your software, I get sometimes the "System error 53 has occurred. The network path was not found" message. What can I do ? Try IDEAL Administration 2016 during 30 days on your network for free!Active Directory Management & Reporting Made Easy with IDEAL Administration 2016 The message "System error 53 http://www.pointdev.com/en/faq/faq-ideal-administration-system-error-53-error-53-windows-error-53-the-network-path-was-not-found-id-453.html has occurred. The network path was not found" is a common native message of Microsoft Windows Operating System and is not directly related to Pointdev softwareTo resolve this error, please verify the following points : - The "RemoteRegistry" service must be up and running on the remote computer. - Check that you can ping with the CMD prompt the remote host (by its IP address or by its physical NetBIOS name), and that the host answers without significant packet loss. If the remote host does not answer when it is pingued by its hostname but answer when pingued with its IP address, please check on the remote host the DNS properties. This point should be considered because a good many functionalities of our products use the name resolution when trying to to access remot hosts. - Check on the local computer and on the remote host that there is no security hardware or software blocking or filtering the communication between the local and remote machines (firewall / antivirus / router ...). If necessary rules have to be instaured (port opening, port translation ...) in order to allow the communication between the two machines.- Pl

named shares 12 Nov 2014 #1 StupidNetwork View Profile View Forum Posts Junior Member Posts : 4 Windows 8.1 64bit "System error 53..." When trying to use named shares I have been using network shares on my home network for a while but as of yesterday I have no longer been able to access them via their name (IP still works fine). This would not be a problem but things like Win8 File Hisotry uses the NAME of the device (e.g., my NAS) and not the IP for making backups.
