C:\> whats going on here? this is the first time i have encounterd this error. a little research has lead me to this: System error 5 - Access is denied This is a permission issue. If the net view command fails with a "System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied." message, 1) make sure you are logged on using an account that has permission to view the shares on the remote computer. 2) Need to cache credential: logon the same username and password on both computers or use net net use \\computername /user:username command. 3) Make sure the Netlogon service is running. so how can i find the username and password for the remote machine? thanks Back to top #2 cbs Posted 25 July 2004 - 11:12 PM cbs Forum Newbie Members 60 posts Reputation: 0 dont post peoples ip's please its not good i belive the problem your having is that your jus cant get in. its forcefully rejecting you. you could get a brute forcer

When targetting a given network, the first thing an intruder would do, would be to portscan the remote machine or network. A lot of information can be gathered by a simple port scan but what the intruder is looking for http://www.rohitab.com/discuss/topic/9809-netbios-system-error-5/ is an open port 139 – the Default NetBios port. It’s surprising how methodical an attack can become based on the open ports of a target machine. You should understand that it is the norm for an NT machine to display different open ports than a Unix machine. Intruders learn to view a portscan and tell wether it is an NT or Unix machine with fairly accurate results. Obviously there are some exceptions to this, but generally it can be http://www.darknet.org.uk/2006/09/remote-network-penetration-via-netbios-hackhacking/ done. Recently, several tools have been released to fingerprint a machine remotely, but this functionality has not been made available for NT. Information gathering with NetBIOS can be a fairly easy thing to accomplish, albeit a bit time consuming. NetBIOS is generally considered a bulky protocol with high overhead and tends to be slow, which is where the consumption of time comes in. If the portscan reports that port 139 is open on the target machine, a natural process follows. The first step is to issue an NBTSTAT command. The NBTSTAT command can be used to query network machines concerning NetBIOS information. It can also be useful for purging the NetBIOS cache and preloading the LMHOSTS file. This one command can be extremely useful when performing security audits. Interpretation the information can reveal more than one might think. Usage: nbtstat [-a RemoteName] [-A IP_address] [-c] [-n] [-R] [-r] [-S] [-s] [interval] Switches -a Lists the remote computer's name table given its host name. -A Lists the remote computer's name table given its IP address. -c Lists the remote name cache including the IP addresses. -n Lists local NetBIOS names. -r Lists names resolved by broadcast and via WINS. -R Purges and reloads the remote cache name table. -S Lists sessions table with the destination IP addresses. -s Lists sessions table conversions. 123456789 Switches -aLists the remote computer's name table given its host name. -ALists the remote c

I can't find any references for this on StackOverflow, so I think it's a useful resource to have here. What are the system error 5 general troubleshooting steps for this problem? Check for a personal firewall problem. A misconfigured or malfunctioning personal firewall, on either computer, can block browser access. Do you have antivirus protection? Make sure that your antivirus is not part of a package that contains a personal firewall, and does not contain a component that acts as a firewall. Look carefully for a hardware firewall, sitting inside your computer. The nVidia nForce is probably the first, but surely not the last, device of this type. Some newer, WiFi routers, have a complete firewall between ALL client computers, connected wired or wireless. Look for an "Isolation Mode" setting, if no computers are visible to each other. Each vendor uses a different name for this featur
A Computer Using Netbios Hacking Rafay Baloch 5:32:00 AM Computer hacking Netbios Hacking is the art of hacking into someone else's computer through your computer. NetBIOS stands for "Network Basic Input Output System." It is a way for a LAN or WAN to share folders, files, drives, and printers. In this post i will tell you to hack into a computer with netbios hacking .Netbios hacking is the easiest way to Hack into a remote computer. Procedure for Netbios hacking So first off we need to find a computer or the computer to hack into. So if your plugged in to the LAN, or connected to the WAN, you can begin. Open up Cain and Abel. This program has a built in sniffer feature. A sniffer looks for all IP addresses in the local subnet. Once you have opened up the program click on the sniffer tab, click the Start/Stop sniffer, and then click the blue cross Another window will pop up, make sure "All host in my subnet" is selected, and then click ok. It should begin to scan. Then IP's, computer names, and mac addresses will show up. Now remember the IP address of the computer you are going to be breaking into. If you can't tell whether the IP address is a computer, router, modem, etc, that's ok. During the next step we will begin our trial and error. Now, we don't know if we have our designated target, or if we have a computer or printer, or whatever else is on the LAN or WAN. If you did get the IP of the target though, I still recommend reading through this section, for it could be helpful later on. Click on the start menu and go to run, type in cmd, and click ok. This should bring up the command prompt. From here we will do most of the hacking. Now I will be referring to certain commands that need to be inputted into the command prompt. I will put these commands in quotes, but do not put the quotes in the code when you type it into the prompt. I am only doing this to avoid confusion. Let's get back to the hacking. Type in "ping (IP address of the target)." For example in this tutorial, "ping 192.168.1.103." This will tell us if the target is online. If it worked, it will look something like this (note, I have colored out private information): IF it didn't work, meaning that the target is not online, it will look something like this: If the target is not online, either switch to a different target, or try another time. If the target is online, then we can proceed. STEP 2 - Hacking into a computer ---------------------
