The truth is that Error 53 has plagued many iPhone owners, not just those who have replaced Touch ID -- and it's not totally clear why.What is Error 53?Error 53 is an unfixable error code displayed by iTunes when restoring an iPhone that is found to have an unidentified or unexpected Touch ID module. The error message is terse -- and almost always terminal for the device in question.Which devices are affected?The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus definitely. This server is connected to a EMC CX3-40. We are able to error 53 backup a VM using the "Network Backup" option. If we use the "VMWare Consildated Backup" we receive a error message:0 of 0 files processed Total VM size: 8,00 GBProcessed size: 0,00 KBAvg. performance rate: 0 KB/sBackup mode: VCB SANStart time: 22-4-2009 13:17:36End time: 22-4-2009 13:24:58Retrieving file listWaitForVCBCatalog failedClient error: Vcb process is terminatedWaiting for catalog data has failed.Vcb process is terminatedWaiting for error 53 iphone catalog data has failed.Server error: End of fileAs you can see in the logging, the backup takes about 7 minutes. If your network job is functioning, and VCB is failing out, then there is a definite need to configure VCB. Are you able to run manual VCBmounter jobs successfully outside of Veeam Backup?
