Dism Error 87 The Mount-wim Option Is Unknown
do in the following situation: 1. I made a WES7 image (OOBE, imagex to WIM file). It works quite OK. 2. I want to check what files are in the image (or change some of them). 3. I randism /Mount-Wim /WimFile:"SYSTEM.WIM" /index:1 /MountDir:"D:\Temp\sys" on Windows 7 Professional and it successfully mounted all files. 4. I ran the same command on the Windows 7 Prof x64 and DISM fails: C:\>dism /Mount-Wim dism error 87 the apply-image option is unknown /WimFile:"SYSTEM.WIM" /index:1 /MountDir:"D:\Temp\sys" Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 6.1.7600.16385 Mounting image [==========================100.0%==========================] Error: 87 The parameter is incorrect. The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log The log say also that parameter is incorrect. It's quite annoying as I upgraded my development machine to x64 OS and now can't fully work with WES7 development. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. WBR, Nikolai Friday, January 18, 2013 3:05 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote Hi all, OK, I've found the reason: on x64 machine the D:\Temp folder was a link to another drive. The disk D: itself doesn't have much space, but the disk where the \temp folder is physically located was big enough. So, DISM incorrectly use the windows API to determine the amount of free disk space (count the D:\ free space what was different than D:\temp free disk space). 2MS: when you use GetDiskFreeSpace() function, pass the full target path there to get correct info.WBR, Nikolai Marked as answer by NickViz Monday, January 21, 2013 10:43 AM Monday, January 21, 2013 10:42 AM Reply | Quote All replies 0 Sign in to vote Does the D:\Temp\sys folder exist? I am running the bat file as an administrator. The entry in my bat file I am using is as follows: %systemroot%\sysnative\dism /online /enable-feature /all /featurename:IIS-ASPNET45 According to the documentation I have read the all switch should enable all parent features needed to needed to run ASP.net 4.5. I've also tried using just IIS-ASPNET and IIS-ASPNET40 all received the same error. Error 87 the all option is not recognised in this context I originally tried to do each feature needed to run my application individually but encountered similar issues. iis batch-file dism share|improve this question edited Feb 13 '14 at 14:47 David Ruhmann 7,59311633 asked Feb 13 '14 at 11:49 user3305823 1112 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 4 down vote You have 2 problems. The first is that the /all flag was introduced in Windows 8, and so nonexistent in Windows 7. The second is that the IIS-ASPNET45 feature also isn't a part of Windows 7, because .Net 4.5 came out after it did. What you need to do is: Enable the specific features you need for IIS explicitly using DISM: dism.exe /NoRestart /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:IIS-ApplicationDevelopment /FeatureName:IIS-CommonHttpFeatures /FeatureName:IIS-DefaultDocument /FeatureName:IIS-ISAPIExtensions /FeatureName:IIS-ISAPIFilter /FeatureName:IIS-ManagementConsole /FeatureName:IIS-NetFxExtensibility /FeatureName:IIS-RequestFiltering /FeatureName:IIS-Security /FeatureName:IIS-StaticContent /FeatureN
