It appears as a warning on the first line of every .php file, so I have hundreds of these showing up. netbeans share|improve this question asked Sep 7 '11 at 18:12 Luke 5,99312267 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7338551/disable-html-error-checking-for-this-file-is-disabled-hint-in-netbeans You just need to enable HTML error checking, click on the light bulb on the hint and you should be taken to the configuration screen to do that. share|improve this answer answered Sep 7 '11 at 18:15 Clive 32.9k66289 3 When I do this I get "End of file seen without seeing a doctype first. Expected "" on every PHP file instead. I do not have HTML code in my PHP files, so enabling HTML validation on them doesn't make sense. I just want this "hint" to go away. –Luke Sep 7 '11 at 18:57 add a comment| up vote 3 down vote Go To Tools|Options|Editor, select "Hints" and language set to HTML. There you can choose what to use and what to not share|improve this answer answered Sep 8 '11 at 20:57 ladar 4,16421531 2 There doesn't appear to be an option to turn off this error specifically. At least not just this error (each checkbox is a group of different errors). –Luke Sep 12 '11 at 16:06 1 I am also facing this problem years after you faced and it kills me. –Bangash Feb 6 '15 at 18:35 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up

Hi there, Either HTML Error Checking was not present in version 6.9.1 or it was better hidden. With new 7.0 Beta I see it in every first line of every view-related (MVC) file, since such file does not contains HTML/HEAD/BODY sections (no doctype found), but DO contains error checking HTML tags. Which seems to make HTML Error Checking foul. Clicking it's icon gives me only two options - to turn on or off (to enable or disable error checking in this or in any of this MIME type docs). Which only changes, if errors are marked or if yellow exclamation sign says that HTML Checking was turned off. I'm looking html error checking for any chance to complete turn or install this off, as this interrupts my work. With this thing (no matter, if turned on or off) normal HTML tags checking functions are gone hell! There was a very useful function that was marking with yellow background opening and closing tag in particular pair. It is gone now, replaced with marking clicked HTML tag with dark background meaning that Netbeans assumes it incorrect - again all because this idiotic HTML Error Checking unable to find document doctype! If turning this thing off is impossible (yack!) then is there any other way to bring back very useful to me function above described - of marking opening and closing tag in a pair. Thank you! Forgive me for saying this, but this is another feature that Netbeans developers introduced without any possibility to tur!n it off completely if someone doesn't like it! BTW: There's a bug in error checking module itself - "disable" options (current file / all files based on mimetype) are doubled - therefore there are four items for two functio
