Posted on 2007-02-22 Citrix 1 Verified Solution 4 Comments 9,636 Views Last Modified: 2011-11-29 Hello, we have two servers on the same farm. Server A in in Houston , Server B in Dallas. We have http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/69180-error-an-error-has-occurred-while-connecting-to-the-requested-resource/ published the desktop from the houston server and the desktop from the dallas server. Via the web interface , users can access the desktop on the houston server but when we click on the dallas desktop published app icon we get ERROR: An error has occurred while connecting to the requested resource. Any ideas ? 0 Question by:c_hockland Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 18 Best Solution bymgcIT ok here's what I mean: log into the web interface instead of clicking on https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/22407779/Citrix-ERROR-An-error-has-occurred-while-connecting-to-the-requested-resource.html the published app (the link) to launch it, right click on it and choose "Save Target As" and save the file (launch.ica) to your Go to Solution 4 Comments LVL 18 Overall: Level 18 Citrix 17 Message Expert Comment by:mgcIT2007-02-23 if you right-click on the link for the dallas desktop and save that file... open it in notepad and look for the server address in that file. is it pointing to the correct address? btw, you can do this if you are using secure gateway... the address is masked 0 Message Author Comment by:c_hockland2007-02-23 i think there is a misunderstanding. All desktops are published on the web interface. I see published apps (desktops). I am not quite sure what do you mean by "..right-click on the link for the dallas desktop and save that file... open it in notepad and look for the server address in that file " thanks 0 LVL 18 Overall: Level 18 Citrix 17 Message Accepted Solution by:mgcIT2007-02-23 ok here's what I mean: log into the web interface instead of clicking on the published app (the link) to launch it, right click on it and choose "Save Target As" and save the file (launch.ica) to your computer. It's the same concept as if you were downloading a .pdf file from a webpage and right-clicked on it to do "Save Target As" 0 Message Expert Comment by:Servicelinklp2009-04-12 That is not a solution,
Error: An error has occurred while connecting to the requested resource The error in the web interface 5.4 console could of many http://xenappadmin.blogspot.com/2013/02/an-error-has-occurred-while-connecting.html reason. If the XenApp Server is not license properly and showing load 10000 then also you will get this error. If you are trying to access legacy farm application from web interface http://tokeshi.com/node/4807 5.4 console, you will get this error. In our case users are trying to access aplication from Xenapp Servers and servers are licensed properly. On investigation it has been found that error connecting server has been removed from the load balancing and not accepting any connections due to a Health Monitoring Test failure. You can verify the same using "qfarm /LBoff" or "qfarm /online" command from XenApp server. To enable the load balancing of the servers reboot the server or run the command "enablelb" from the server. You an run this enable lb command from other error connecting to XenApp server of the farm. Email This BlogThis! Share to Twitter Share to Facebook 4 comments: lee woo said... An error has occurred while connecting to the requested resource" When Launching Applications Throug Submitted by RoyATokeshi on Thu, 08/10/2006 - 10:22 Citrix states in their article: CTX110573 Document ID: CTX110573, Created on: Jul 26, 2006, Updated: Jul 27, 2006 Products: Advanced Access Control 4.2, Citrix Access Gateway 4.2, Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 for Microsoft Windows 2003, Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000, Web Interface 4.2 Symptoms Users connecting through Access Gateway Advanced (Access Gateway with Advanced Access Control) cannot launch applications from a Web Interface resource if the “IP Range” load evaluator is applied to Presentation Servers in the server farm. The following error message is seen when launching an Application by clicking on the icon: “Error: An error has occurred while connecting to the requested resource.” When you try to right-click and save the launch.ica file to the desktop, the following error message appears: “Internet Explorer cannot download …” Cause When connecting through Access Gateway Advanced through the Web proxy (URL Rewriting), the connection reports the IP address of the Access Gateway as the client address. If this address is not included in the IP range defined in the load evaluator, the connection fails the criteria for the load evaluator. The Presentation Servers return a full load (because the load evaluator fails), and therefore no launch.ica file can be generated as no least busy server is available. Resolution Add the IP address of the Citrix Access Gateway to the IP range load evaluator rule. -Or- Use a different load evaluator, see below for more information. Note: This behavior may also appear because of the condition described in CTX107181 – Error: An error has occurred while connecting to the requested resource.
