Troubleshooting- 'Error during rendering/encoding menu" So, I normally want to keep this down to a post per day, but this issue was about to drive me insane. I read a million (exaggeration, but it was close) posts on macrumors and apple help to figure out what my
Idvd Encoding Error During Burning
problem was.I was asked to make 10 DVD's of a project I had recently completed from a polo error during movie encoding idvd match/birthday party. The first DVD was delivered nearly a month ago. I was contacted this week with the new assignment. I assured them it would be idvd encoding error mp4 no problem. I always keep one hard drive full of any projects I've done for at least 2 years. I knew I had the footage, I knew it would be okay. It wasn't.I popped in a DVD fresh out of the pack and, after https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201404 about 15 minutes of rendering menus and such, it gave me an error message. The message said, "Error during rendering/encoding menus". It then recognized my disc as a blank disk and started me back over in the burning process from scratch.I felt alone and helpless sorting through tons of posts on the subject, but none really made sense. Only Chris Carraba could make me feel less emo. Then, I found the fix on my own. Several posts described "muting the menu." I knew that my sound was fine http://btskipworth.blogspot.com/2011/08/wilt-idvd-11-troubleshooting-error.html when I previewed it, but it took some time to figure out what was up because most of these posts weren't for iDVD '11. I'm hoping to make this a simple fix.Step 1: Go to the menu. It can be any of them, so you might want to check out all of them just to be on the safe side.Step 2: Click the button on the right ( I assume it's for a drop down menu to add content, not sure of the exact name).Step 3: The small photo on the left is titled "menu". There will be a small speaker icon, it's very similar to the one that pops up when you change your volume on your Mac. It should have "waves" coming out of it. If you do not see it, or are unsure, click the icon and you'll see what I'm talking about. It basically toggles the mute function. That should fix it!I honestly have no idea how I muted it, but the DVD's have burned successfully after I made that small change. I spent around an hour and a half trying to get it down. I feel like this is probably the easiest post you'll find on fixing it.Happy burning! So I figure, why not try encoding them in iDVD and send a physical DVD to her? So I get all the video assets placed on the disc, but when I click the burn option or try to make a disc image, I always get to about halfway through the dvd error during preparation of the disc and it bombs out with an error message saying "There was an error during rendering/encoding of the menus/slideshows. The burning process has been canceled." Now I feel like an idiot, but there are no slideshows on this disc. And the only thing I can think of that I am doing wrong in the menus is that I am putting one of my iMovie-made videos in the drop zone. That aside, I have no idea what I could be doing wrong. I do not even know what information to provide at this juncture. *sigh* It's still a thousand times more flexible than my old IBuM, I must say... "It's getting to the point now when I'm with you, I no longer want to have something stuck in my eye..." All of your video content is coming over from iMovie correct? 2. You have video assets on the main menu, and you have your assets for the actual movie, but they contain no pictures? 3. You verified that you hav
some video in preparation for burning to DVD, and I'm getting some strange problems at certain bitrates. It has me totally stumped, I'm hoping someone here has some ideas. I'm rendering the video with the included MainConcept MPEG-2 codec, so that I can burn it later using DVDA. I have all of the quality settings as high as they go, and I initially rendered it at CBR 9.8 (this is an instructional video, little motion, so sharpness is a big issue). The video rendered perfectly in this case, and I was able to burn it. However, due to the bitrate, some bits of my DVD turned up missing, and I'm now trying to re-render at a lower bitrate. Thats where the problem starts. I go to render the video again, changing no setting other than the bitrate, which I change to CBR 8.0, not a big difference. I start it rendering... and it quits about 15% into the render, with an "unknown error has occured" message. I have tried rendering it many times now, hoping it was just the computer acting up that once, but its doing the exact same thing every time. I tried CBR 9.8 again for the hell of it, it rendered fine. I then tried CBR 7.5, it ran a bit longer than the last one but again ends with that error. Why would one bitrate succeed while others fail? What really is the difference? I have it currently attempting another render at VBR 7.5-8.5, so we'll see if that works, but I really wanted CBR. And the fact that the error message is totally unknown is what buggs me, like its an issue with my computer and not Vegas, but I haven't found any proof of this. Anyone have any ideas at all? A partial file is created which plays fine for the limited duration rendered. I had to use another template to complete the task - I haven't had time to investigate what settings are causing the problem. A more useful error message is sorely needed, I feel. gordyboy Thanks Quote More Direct link Report Direct link Report the solution JJKizak wrote on 01/28/2005, 05:57 AM If it happens at the same point every time try redoing that small portion of the clip. Sometimes the rendering engine doesn't like something and stops. This would happen on
