XSane worked one time only, before error message appeared. I removed and reinstalled all of the "sane" packages that I had downloaded and installed which were listed in the synaptic package manager presented upon a search for (Scanner). Problem still existed after reinstallation of "sane packages." The "Scanner Utility" program, also installed, works, however. The error message shows up when the program is searching for devices or scanner. The particular scanner used when error message appeares on screen is a UMAX Astra 2100U, and this is the only scanner I have. I unchecked "Enable Color Management" under "Preferences" and it works just fine now. If you want you use color management you need ICM profiles. skorasaurus (skoraw) wrote on 2009-11-23: #4 Thank you for reporting this bug. However, this bug can easily be solved. As rp wrote, this problem can be solved by unchecking 'enable color management' in the preferences menu. For me, simply unchecking the enable-color profile option y

Initially, I had problems connecting my printer, probably because I'm still not sure of what I'm doing, but I eventually did get it connected, But after it was printing , I couldn't scan with simple scan and so I installed XSane . Xsane would scan error during cms but only in black and white. Also I connected the printer after installing HPLIP and only by using cups website. For some unknown reason simple scan started working so XSAne isn't so important anymore but why am I getting these error codes?Code: [Select]System: Host: albert-desktop Kernel: 3.16.0-48-generic i686 (32 bit) Desktop: N/A Distro: Peppermint Six
