Then exported to ProRes (.mov). This resolved the issue. Researching more into this a found that when iDVD is encoding it will look for audio and fail if there is no audio found.Yes. It was found in an earlier topic that video without audio would give the multiplexing error. Glad you discovered the problem and got a fix. For me, this iDVD encoding error message usually means there's an incompatibility in my process -- but with such a good track record, it sounds like something changed at animoto? or an iTunes upgrade? any changes to your System or iLife software? If you can double-click and play the mp4 file you down

You've have compressed it there, and then again when iMovie encodes it a second time. My guess is that iDVD doesn't play well with h.264 encodes because it's a computational intensive codec that iDVD cannot reencode again. Just export a self contained movie with the original editing codec and use that. Do not convert to h.264. David S. So I figure, why not try encoding them in iDVD and send a physical DVD to her? So I get all the video assets placed on the disc, but when I click the burn option or try to make a disc image, I always get to about halfway through the preparation of the disc and it bombs out with an error message saying "There was an error during rendering/encoding there was an of the menus/slideshows. The burning process has been canceled." Now I feel like an idiot, but there are no slideshows on this disc. And the only thing I can think of that I am doing wrong in the menus is that I am putting one of my iMovie-made videos in the drop zone. That aside, I have no idea what I could be doing wrong. I do not even know what information to provide at this juncture. *sigh* It's still a thousand times more flexible than my old IBuM, I must say... All of your video content is coming over from iMovie correct? 2. You have video assets on the main menu, and you have your assets for the actual movie, but they contain no pictures? 3. You verified that you have enough Disc space left on the main HD? 20% is the bare minimum that must be free for OS X to use as virtual memory in encoding, so say on an 80GB HD, you need to have 16GB
Troubleshooting- 'Error during rendering/encoding menu" So, I normally want to keep this down to a post per day, but this issue was about to drive me insane. I read a million (exaggeration, but it was close) posts on macrumors and apple help to figure out what my problem was.I was asked to make 10 DVD's of a project I had recently completed from a polo match/birthday party. The first DVD was delivered nearly a month ago. I was contacted this week with the new assignment. I assured them it would be no problem. I always keep one hard drive full of any projects I've done for at least 2 years. I knew I had the footage, I knew it would be okay. It wasn't.I popped in a DVD fresh out of the pack and, after about 15 minutes of rendering menus and such, it gave me an error message. The message said, "Error during rendering/encoding menus". It then recognized my disc as a blank disk and started me back over in the burning process from scratch.I felt alone and helpless sorting through tons of posts on the subject, but none really made sense. Only Chris Carraba could make me feel less emo. Then, I found the fix on my own. Several posts described "muting the menu." I knew that my sound was fine when I previewed it, but it took some time to figure out what was up because most of these posts weren't for iDVD '11. I'm hoping to make this a simple fix.Step 1: Go to the menu. It can be any of them, so you might want to check out all of them just to be on the safe side.Step 2: Click the button on the right ( I assume it's for a drop down menu to add content, not sure of the exact name).Step 3: The small photo on the left is titled "menu". There will be a small speaker icon, it's very similar to the one that pops up when you change your volume on your Mac. It should have "waves" coming out of it. If you do not see it, or are
