Inside each subreport is a crosstab that looks at the the last 14 days of data. The crosstabs runs fine within each subreport, but when you try to run the whole report together I get "Error formatting Cross-Tab Object." Can anyone help me here??? Thanks. RE: **Error Message for Cross Tab** lbass (TechnicalUser) 4 Jan 10 18:02 In what sections of the main report are the subs located? Do the crosstabs create virtual pages when run alone? The main report will not create virtual pages to accommodate the crosstabs. You might want to create one crosstab in the main report (if they have the same number of columns) to force the virtual pages.-LB RE: **Error Message for Cross Tab** goduke (IS/IT--Management) (OP) 4 Jan 10 18:17 The two subreports are in PFa and PFb of the main report. Inside the subreports, the crosstabs are in the report footer. By virtual pages do you mean that it runs over into another page (horizontally)? I thought about that when I was creating them and I formatted them to make sure they wont go over. I will try putting the first crosstab in the main report also. RE

Error formatting cross-tab object SarvaniKondeti asked Sep 11, 2008 | Replies (1) Hi, I face two problems in crystal reports : 1. When I run a report in Crystal Reports X1, it gives this "Error formatting cross-tab object" error though it shows the number of records as the result. 2. For a report which does not give the above error, when I try to save the result, it throws a "Crystal Report:Print Engine engine Error". Iam new to using Crystal Reports and Business objects. Can any one help me on this? I am having problem making my data column (Field Row) to increase dynamically in height when my data size increases. Since the "Can Grow" property in the Format Editor is disabled, it would not let me set the "Can Grow" to true to enable this function. How do I enable the "Can Grow" function so I can set it to true? crystal-reports formatting word-wrap crosstab share|improve this question edited Jul 19 '13 at 16:18 dibblethewrecker 133 asked Mar 3 '11 at 9:56 Zain Ali 6,80965674 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote I ran into a similar problem where my row labels did not wrap. Sadly, I think the best solution is to increase the height of your "data" row field (probably the bottom row). This does fix the height for ALL rows but it means that text in ALL rows will be able to wrap at the same height. I was going to post an image but I don't have the rep. share|improve this answer answered Jul 19 '13 at 15:58 dibblethewrecker 133 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote Cross-Tabs, like Charts, are always able to grow. For this reason, the "Can Grow"-related formatting options are disabled. It really wouldn't make sense if they couldn't grow since they are dynamic objects. If you're not seeing some data/rows you would expect, it is because the data is not there or something related to the data source for the Cross-Tab is configured incorrectly. share|improve this answer answered Aug 16 '11 at 20:50 Ryan 6,2751925 2 I don't experience this behaviour - my rows do not resize and it truncates the text vertically - CanGrow is disabled. –Rodney Nov 28 '11 at 22:42 @Rodney I misread the original question... sounds like you and OP are looking to have the cross-tab work similarly to how Excel will wrap cells.
