There are 3 cross tabs in the report footer of my donation report. I recently added a new field (soft credit recipient name). I set the location and verified the database and it worked. On Friday, the report ran fine, but it wouldnt print and you couldn't go to the next page - got this error -- Error formatting Cross-Tab Object. The report will work if I delete a cross tab and re-enter it. But if I save it and open again, I get the http://scn.sap.com/thread/1301521 same error. 3It magically worked fine on Monday, but then we got the errors again on Tuesday. And it works fine right now. Is there a reason for what appears to be a random error? The other strange thing is that if I tell it to Verify Database - it says that Gf & Gf_1 has changed, it fixes the report, I save it. When I reopen the report, it runs fine http://www.blackbus.org/Forums/tabid/63/aft/4777/Default.aspx (today), but then it still says the database is not up to date. I'm not very well versed in Crystal, so I may be missing something very simple here.3Thank you!Lorna Chin You are not authorized to post a reply. I am having problem making my data column (Field Row) to increase dynamically in height when my data size increases. Since the error formatting "Can Grow" property in the Format Editor is disabled, it would not let me set the "Can Grow" to true to enable this function. How do I enable the "Can Grow" function so I can set it to true? crystal-reports formatting word-wrap crosstab share|improve this question edited Jul 19 '13 at 16:18 dibblethewrecker 133 asked Mar 3 '11 at 9:56 Zain Ali 6,80965674 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote I ran into a similar problem where my row labels error formatting crosstab did not wrap. Sadly, I think the best solution is to increase the height of your "data" row field (probably the bottom row). This does fix the height for ALL rows but it means that text in ALL rows will be able to wrap at the same height. I was going to post an image but I don't have the rep. share|improve this answer answered Jul 19 '13 at 15:58 dibblethewrecker 133 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote Cross-Tabs, like Charts, are always able to grow. For this reason, the "Can Grow"-related formatting options are disabled. It really wouldn't make sense if they couldn't grow since they are dynamic objects. If you're not seeing some data/rows you would expect, it is because the data is not there or something related to the data source for the Cross-Tab is configured incorrectly. share|improve this answer answered Aug 16 '11 at 20:50 Ryan 6,2751925 2 I don't experience this behaviour - my rows do not resize and it truncates the text vertically - CanGrow is disabled. –Rodney Nov 28 '11 at 22:42 @Rodney I misread the original question... sounds like you and OP are looking to have the cross-tab work similarly to how Excel will wrap cells. I came across quite a few threads elsewhere with the same question and no real solution. CR2008 doesn't appear to even let you set the field widths via formula in a cross-tab. You may be able to dynamically set field sizes (by counting characters, I suppose) via SDK, b

I have a Dbase Report that when it runs only shows the first page of a multipage report. I have looked and looked for data errors but cannot seem to find any. I can however export the data to Excel format and all the information is there all pages print and it's fine. I was looking at the report in Crystal, I verified the database and previewed the information only to get a Error Formatting Cross-Tab Object when I try to go to page 2. I am new to Crystal and need some help correcting this. The report is a monthly attendance report that shows the details of up to 30 days of work for each employee.
