Recently we've been getting reports of updates failing to install (download is fine) on client PCs. As an example a recent release shows some 9000 successful installs and 57 failures. Drilling into the report on the failures I get State Names like "Failed to Install Update" & "General Failure". When I drill into theseI get error status IDs (11708 & 11713 respectively) but I can't http://www.eventid.net/display-eventid-11713-source-MsiInstaller-eventno-7804-phase-1.htm find any info as to what those IDs mean to help me troubleshoot any further. Does anyone have any ideas that could help me here? Thanks in advance #1 jrickard872 Total Posts : 24 Scores: 6 Reward points : 8710 Joined: 1/15/2002 Status: offline RE: Software Update Error Codes Thursday, November 12, 2009 10:35 AM (permalink) 0 When you get those kind of general codes, it is time to start digging into the http://www.myitforum.com/forums/Software-Update-Error-Codes-m210524.aspx client logs and see if you find a pattern. I'd go through maybe 10 and look at the WUAHandler and the other usual suspects in your CCm\Logs directory, and especially the WindowsUpdate.log file in your windows directory. Sometimes you can find a clear recurring pattern. Then again, sometimes not. OK Troubleshooting Deployment Packages which stall at "Downloading (0% Complete)" in Software Center client Started by jwns , Jun 07 2012 05:43 https://community.landesk.com/thread/9143 PM software center stalled download Please log in to reply 4 replies to this topic #1 jwns jwns Newbie Established Members 2 posts Posted 07 June 2012 - 05:43 PM error id Note: This is regarding SCCM 2012 I have been trying to understand why my client will not download an update from the distribution point. See the attached image for an example. Steps I took leading up to this: Selected an update within Config Manager. Created the Software Update Group and Deployment Package Deployed the deployment package for "As Soon As Possible" installation error id 11713 with an immediate deadline. Distribution Point Status is good. 1 of 1 points have the package. I double check the presence of the package through the network path, on the distribution point and there are files in the proper folder(s). Switch to client machine, Navigate to the share which contains the updates to ensure I can see them. Open Configuration Manager Properties from control panel. Manually run "Software Updates Deployment Evaluation Cycle" Receive the Software Center notification, open Software Center, click INSTALL. Result: The Software Center client will stall in this state. I have been unable to find any errors or warnigns while the client is stalled in this state. The only error I see on the client appears after I force the download to cancel Severity - Error Component/Source - Software Updates Installation Agent / Config Manager Agent Event ID - 11713 Description - SMS internal error occurred for the update d68e0cb2-9501-405e-af9c-156f352d6735. The same true on the SCCM server which receives a copy of this error. My current hypothesis is there is an issue with permissions somewhere on the distribution point but thi
