to design some SSIS package but i'm having some issues with the connection manager creating a connection to the SQL Server using Native OLEDB or OLE DB provider for SQL Server.. Nothing seems to work so far.Error on Screen when i click Test connectionTest connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. The .Net Framework Data Providers require Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC). test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. unspecified error Please install Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) version 2.6 or later. My fixes and verification:*MDAC installed on the server is 2.8 SP1 (Windows 2003 64Bit)*Tried several OLEDB Drivers i can select the server name but is not querying the databases.*I can connect using the SSMS*Verify the MDAC with the Microsoft MDAC tool (And the registry too)*Find some "User fixes" deleting the Visual studio temp folder under User/appdata/microsoft/ and that doesn't work either.Any other suggestions?... Microsoft Data Link Error Initializing Provider Access
From My Forums Answered by: Test Connection Failed because of an error initializing provider SQL Server > SQL Server Data Access Question 0 Sign in to vote I have a question as to http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1572799-149-1.aspx why I cannot connect to my SQL Server. I am no SQL man so please bare with me. I was initially creating a sharepoint site and trying to configure a database but the Configuration Wizard would fail stating it could not find a user. I was then informed I could created a .UDL file to attempt to test my connection. That is where I am at. https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/5779d18b-a41e-416e-9001-8bbc73670591/test-connection-failed-because-of-an-error-initializing-provider?forum=sqldataaccess I can see the SQL server, and when I use Windows NT Integrated security, my connection is successful. When I use a specific user name or password, I cannot connect to it. The only connection that is successful is the sa user. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I should check my permission levels? I checked on my server roles and security roles on SQL and the account that is being used to create the sharepoint site is a securityadmin, dbcreator, public and sysadmin. Surface Area configuration is allowed to have remote connections for TCP and Named Pipes. I even ensured that DTC is allowed to have remote connections on both machines. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Friday, January 29, 2010 6:03 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote My mistake. The error was do to password change. Any new SQL accounts I create will get a successful connection to view the database (once i changed the password). It's just any account with the "domain\username" will get the failed attempt. Sounds like it's an Windows Integrated Security thing to me. Ma

To fix this look for a box that says something like change login details.2. The error could be because your Oracle service is not set up properly i.e. you need to either copy over the tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files from a valid installation or recreate the services on your machine using the client tools. Use the Oracle client tools to ensure that the service is configured properly.I hope this helps.Rod Like Show 0 Likes (0) Actions Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider Anil Konduri Apr 29, 2010 10:52 AM (in response to Anil Konduri) Thanks, its working...
