I have installed both enigmail and enigmime via urpmi. This I did as root. I also started up Thunderbird and configured GPG preferences as root. Thunderbird is installed system-wide. I then set up Enigmail preferences in Thunderbird as a user. I notice that in enigmail console, stuff like this is printed: ====== Console Text starts here ====== Initializing Enigmail service ... Download and install GnuPG. ftp://ftp.gnupg.org/gcrypt/binary/gnupg-w32cli-1.4.1.exe Please accept the intaller's defaults. When done add GnuPG's directory to XP's PATH environment variable. Set the path in Enigmail's preferences panel to "C:\Program Files\Gnu\GnuPG\gpg.exe" There are more tips on the GnuPG for Enigmail on https://www.enigmail.net/list_archive/2005-March/004154.html Windows page. There's a lot that needs to be reqritten to to the release of the installer with 1.4.1, but specific tasks like adding to the PATH will still be the same. If you have any doubts or questions, please write back. Either to the list or directly. Just please don't respond to both me and the list. - -John - -- John P.
