I began to do some developing but everytime after I install the extension, I encoutered the error message that "Firefox could not install this item because of a failure in Chrom Registration failure" . Also, I download other's extension and tried to redo the package by myself without changing any code. Still failed because of this reason. I do not know why. Could you help me about it ? By the way, my firefox is 2.0.0.4. I unzip .xpi firstly and then use zip command to create .xpi is use zip ***.xpi * under solaris 10 x86. Thanks. dickvl Posts: 51763Joined: July 18th, 2005, 3:25 am Posted August 1st, 2007, 3:40 pm Make sure that the folder structure is correct and that you did put the main files (e.g. index.rdf) in the root of the zip file and not in a subfolder. You can compare that with a working xpi file. ericazhj Posts: 6Joined: August 1st, 2007, 9:42 am Posted August 1st, 2007, 8:14 pm Thanks a lot. Now the problem is solved. The reason is that I did not make the xpi package correctly. Thanks. dickvl Posts: 51763Joined: July 18th, 2005, 3:25 am Posted August 3rd, 2007, 3:45 pm You're welcome. Make sure that install.rdf is in the root of the xpi archive. You can download the 7-zip program from http://www.7-zip.org/ Run the installer and start the 7-zip file manager (7zFM.exe): Start > All Programs > 7-Zip > 7-Zip File Manager http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Extensions http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Ex ... _Packaging krishnaraj mohandoss Posts: 1Joined: November 28th, 2007, 10:07 am Posted November 28th, 2007, 10:11 am I am getting an error dialog (thrice) each time Firefox starts up saying "Firefox could not in
