Error In Collect/series Integer Too Large In Context
programing my code. I can't keep going my code. command-line --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ??? Error using ==> sym.maple Error, (in collect/series) integer too large in context Error in ==> sym.int at 51 r = reshape(maple('map','int',f(:),[x.s '=(' a.s ')..(' b.s ')']),size(f)); --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In my code, I made a spline curve. so I used 'X' as sym variable. so I got the polynomial function of X of the highet power is 3. I intergrate first. then I got the polynomial of power 4. And I have to intergrate again for Power 5. but after first integration.in the function of power4, the constant term is So large. the function is like this. aX+b+cX^2+dX^3+eX^4 --- this b is So large. like this. 23267123572373.....2313572315790452 / 1262912313....12679263997799 (about 100-200number / 100-200nuber) is this make the error as showed in command line?? why is the constant term is So large?? I don't know well what is exact problem. How can I solve this problem? the code is well done from start to some time, and integrate well for first and second intergration. however, abruptly, stoped with error as shown above. thank you for reading. have a nice day. Order Linear Coupled DE Matrix Form Edit Posted: July 19 2013 by jschulzb 145 Product: Maple 0 Hi, I have a set of first order, linear ODE's in matrix form, I was able to solve them with matrixDE for 4 equations (which were uncoupled), but I would like to up this to around 132+ equations if possible. When I tried 9 equations I got Error, (in collect/series) integer too large in context on my laptop and on my other computer it was very slow and I didn't wait for a solution. Should I try a numerical solution (does matrixDE http://www.yqcomputer.com/582_9881_1.htm even have a numerical method?)? or is this problem more suited to Matlab? Here's the file, if you uncomment L:=1 and C:=... it works, if L:=2, it doesnt coupledDEs.mw differential_equation + Manage Tags Short words that describe your content. Used to categorize content. It is recommended that you use the upper case letter L because the lower case letter l is hard to distinguish from the digit 1. Reference So use this - long num=600851475143l; or better long num=600851475143L; sh

Quoting from their web page: "MATLAB is a high-level language and interactive environment for numerical computation, visualization, and programming." MATLAB is a complete environment for high-level programming, as well as interactive data analysis. MATLAB excels at numerical computations, especially when dealing with vectors or matrices of data. Symbolic math is available through an add-on toolbox that uses a MuPAD kernel. There are many add-on toolboxes that extend MATLAB to specific areas of functionality, such as statistics, finance, signal processing, image processing, bioinformatics, etc. You can find a list of toolboxes (http://www.mathworks.com/products/product_listing/index.html) produced by MathWorks. There is also a list (http://www.mathworks.com/products/connections/) of some add-on products produced and sold by other companies, and some users place their own functions or collections of functions on the MATLAB Central File Exchange. Questions about the name "MATLAB" often arise. MATLAB stands for "MATrix LABoratory". See this overview of MATLAB.
