1 SBIE2327 Error in COM server: [31 / 258] by ghfujianbin » Wed Jul 27, 2011 9:47 am Code: Select allSBIE2327 Error in COM server: [31 / 258] Got http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=10950 this error message when I was running IDM(Internet Download Manager), which was forced to run sandboxed. My browser - Firefox was also forced to run sandboxed. IDM won't able to take over the download. When this happened, the checkbox of IDM inside Software Compatibility was checked. The funny part is that when I unchecked the box inside the Software Compatibility, IDM successfully took over the download with error in showing any error message. So what is this? Software Compatibility causes incompatibility? Sounds crazy, isn't it? Best regards, Tyler ghfujianbin Posts: 11Joined: Thu Nov 11, 2010 12:08 am Top by Guest10 » Wed Jul 27, 2011 10:33 am It's not the first time that strange results from IDM have been found, depending on whether or not the extension that it adds to Firefox is Enabled, and error in com whether or not "Advanced Browser Integration" is checked in IDM's settings. This does sound a bit different though. http://sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=9860 The Software Compatibility setting for IDM is supposed to allow a sandboxed program to communicate with the unsandboxed instance of IDM. For me, I would rather not have that, since the files that IDM downloads will be stored outside of the sandbox. I "Remove" the Software Compatibility for the download manager that I use, so that a sandboxed Firefox will start a second (sandboxed) instance of the download manager. That way the downloads will be saved inside of the sandbox.
