See More: how to fix line 2 in config.sys Report • #1 ace_omega July 17, 2010 at 11:58:31 Wow old DOS. I have http://www.computing.net/answers/security/how-to-fix-line-2-in-configsys/30701.html not seen one of the post in a long time. If it is DOS 5.0 (If you don't now just type VER) or greater you should have an EDIT.EXE in you DOS directory. Just CD to DOS directory and type EDIT. This will open the DOS editor. Then go to File and Open -> Browse to your root directory and open the config.sys. Then you can just remove the line for EMM386 because it is just an Expanded Memory manager that enables you to load drivers into the Expanded memory. That being said, why are you trying to boot from a Floppy Disk? Just eject the disk and boot from your hard drive. Report • #2 wonkavision July 17, 2010 at 12:25:58 the hard drive is not responding, so i'm using the universal boot disk. it doesn't work either, and i can't open in safe mode. i will try your way and see what happens. i'll let u know.
