Server, you may get this error during Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 installation. Citrix is aware of this error and posted an article about this error. But...this article on Citrix does not help at all. It does not give a resolution that works. http://support.citrix.com/article/entry.jspa?entryID=11800 So how did I work around this problem manually? Simple, just pause the installation immediately after the installation process says installing SNMP agent for Resource Manager. Then launch the Service Manager (services.msc) and you will see a service named "Citrix Independent Management Architecture". Change the logon account of http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/96312-error-26005-could-not-start-ima-service-in-ctx-ima-startimaservice-state/ this service to "Local System" from "Network Service". Then resume the installation. I do not know what this Network Service account is. And if you want to deploy this to multiple servers then I guess just author a Windows Installer transform to modify the installation so that the server will use "Local System". I think that's it but I have to explore more about this approach... http://bendera.blogspot.com/2007/09/how-to-resolve-error-26005-could-not.html Posted by Mr. Bendera at 5:35 PM Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest 7 comments: Igor said... To "pause", just click the "Cancel" button at the full UI but don't respond to the Are your Sure box. Then change the IMA service, and click No at the Are your sure message to continue. 6:53 AM Wade said... Did anyone ever find a cleaner solution to this issue? We have had this working for http://whitetech.egloos.com/m/2118465 a good while (1year +) and suddenly it started failing. It is important to note that no changes have been made to our Citrix installation except new OS patches. The failed error in Citrix installation gives us these entries in the eventlog: Product: Citrix Presentation Server for Windows -- Error 25646. Setup was not able to create TCP/IP WinStations. and Product: Citrix Presentation Server for Windows -- Error 26005. Could not start IMA Service in CTX_IMA_StartIMAService State = 1 To solve the issue we did the following. First we made a reg file that deleted error in ctx_ima_startimaservice the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations reg key and then we ran a reg file described in this post . After putting these steps into our task sequence the problem is resolved. But we are very interested in finding the source of the problem. Why would our Citrix deployment suddenly start to fail? Could this be in any way related to SCCM or is this a Citrix problem? Thanks :) Wednesday, November 24, 2010 2:40 PM Reply | Quote Answers 1 Sign in to vote This is not ConfigMgr related. ConfigMgr just kicks off whatever command line was defined in the program (without modifying or checking those regkeys first). I could be a Windows problem though.
