Because Of An Error In Data Encryption This Session Will End Windows 10
R2. Been doing this happily for years. For the last few weeks I'm plagued with sessions either failing to connect or dropping out with this error: --------------------------- Remote Desktop Connection --------------------------- Because of an error in data encryption, this session will end. Please try connecting to the remote computer again. I've researched it and keep coming across a suggestion to delete some specific registry entries - but I don't have them anyway. Any idea why this should start happening, or the cure? This could cause issues with the authentication and in turn authentication. 2 Chipotle OP Mark8081 Aug 7, 2013 at 8:47 UTC Good call - I've been caught out before where access was completely denied to a non-Windows NAS due to a clock error. For the machines in question, though, whenever I've looked the client and remote machine clocks agree to the minute. For the one I'm connected to at the moment (a Win2k3 server that booted me off twice this morning), my PC is about 6 seconds behind the server. I think the time difference has to be pretty large before it causes a problem? 0 Serrano OP J-Bird Aug 7, 2013 at 8:51 UTC Yes, usually about 5 minutes or more difference will cause an issue. 0 Jalapeno OP ralph.pickering Aug 7, 2013 at 9:21 UTC I've come across this where the issue turned out to be a NIC driver. As it's just started happening and the common denominator seems to be your Win7 workstation, I'd look to see if the driver has been updated, perhaps via Windows updates. Either roll it back, or see if there is a manufacturer update for the card, as Windows Update usually sucks at drivers. 1 Chipotle OP Mark8081 Aug 7,

This is the error I've been getting more and more frequently over the past few days, to the point that I error in data can't ignore it because it's happening consistently within 5 minutes of connecting - sometimes within a few seconds. Both the remote and local machines are Windows 7 Pro x64. The remote machine is behind a Linksys RV082, and I'm using UPnP to forward a remote port to the correct local port. This setup had been working fine for several months, and I can't think of any recent relevant changes that might have been made. Things I've already tried: Disabling unnecessary components of the network connection on the remote machine, until only IPv4 and Client for Microsoft Networks remain. Disabling TCP large send offload on both the remote and local machines. Confirming that the remote machine is not mentioned anywhere in any DMZ settings on the Linksys router. Confirming that there are no x509-related registry keys screwing things up (this is the suggested fix for a slightly different error anyway). These are the only solutions I've been able to find after about an hour of searching, and most of them apply to XP or Server 2003 in any case. If anyone could suggest something else, it would be much appre

It connects and works for a while then disconnects with the following message: "Because of an error in data encryption, this session will end. Please try connecting to the remote computer again." Any help would be great! windows-vista remote-desktop share|improve this question asked Sep 1 '10 at 23:46 Luke Quinane 247715 Are the two machines on the same LAN or are you connecting across a router, the Internet, etc? –boot13 Sep 2 '10 at 1:26 @boot13 The connection is via a VPN over the Internet. –Luke Quinane Sep 2 '10 at 1:40 Ah. Which VPN client are you using? You might want to read any documentation you can find on that client, looking for notes on using RDP. You could also use it to narrow down your search. Anyway, from what I've seen so far, this is one of those weird problems that a few people are having but nobody knows how to resolve (+1). –boot13 Sep 2 '10 at 5:22 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote From this thread, http://www.techzonez.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-9868.html, it sounds like you may have your Vista computer setup in the router as the DMZ. Other suggestions are to delete any network protocols except the basics to see if that fixes it. Hope this helps share|improve this answer answered Sep 2 '10 at 0:13 wbeard52 2,22921935 the remote computer is just connected to a basic sw
