Remote Desktop Problem With Encryption
Been doing this happily for years. For the last few weeks I'm plagued with sessions either because of an error in data encryption this session will end windows 7 failing to connect or dropping out with this error: --------------------------- Remote Desktop Connection --------------------------- Because of an error in data encryption, this session will

end. Please try connecting to the remote computer again. I've researched it and keep coming across a suggestion to delete some specific registry entries - but I don't have them anyway. Any idea why this should start happening, or the because of an error in data encryption this session will end windows xp cure? For the machines in question, though, whenever I've looked the client and remote machine clocks agree to the minute. For the one I'm connected to at the moment (a Win2k3 server that booted me off twice this morning), my PC is about 6 seconds behind the server. I think the time difference has to be pretty large before it causes a problem? 0 Serrano OP J-Bird Aug 7, 2013 at 8:51 UTC Yes, usually about 5 minutes or more difference will cause an issue. 0 Jalapeno OP ralph.pickering Aug 7, 2013 at 9:21 UTC I've come across this where the issue turned out to be a NIC driver. As it's just started happening and the common denominator seems to be your Win7 workstation, I'd look to see if the driver has been updated, perhaps via Windows updates. Either roll it back, or see if there is a manufacturer update for the card, as Windows Update usually sucks at drivers. 1 Chipotle OP Mark8081 Aug 7, 2013 at 9:49 UTC My Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller driver's not been updated since 2009 and according to Dell that's the latest. There may be a later one available from Broadcom but I'm struggling to identify exactly which BCM57xx model I have. 0 Jalapeno OP techyo

This is the error I've been getting more and more frequently over the past few days, to the point that I can't ignore it because it's happening consistently within 5 minutes of connecting - sometimes within a few seconds. Both the remote and local machines are Windows http://superuser.com/questions/238230/windows-7-remote-desktop-encryption-error-every-few-minutes 7 Pro x64. The remote machine is behind a Linksys RV082, and I'm using UPnP to forward a remote port to the correct local port. This setup had been working fine for several months, and I can't think of any recent relevant changes that might have been made. Things I've already tried: Disabling unnecessary components of the network connection on the remote machine, until only IPv4 and Client for Microsoft Networks remain. Disabling TCP large send offload on both the remote and local machines. Confirming that the remote machine is not mentioned anywhere in any DMZ settings on the Linksys router. Confirming that there are no x509-related registry keys screwing things up (this is the suggested fix for a slightly different error anyway). These are the only solutions I've been able to find after about an hour of searching, and most of them apply to XP or Server 2003 in any case. If anyone could suggest something else, it would be much appreciated. windows-7 remote-desktop share|improve this question edited Jan 26 '11 at 21:17 BloodPhilia 21.4k76091 asked Jan 26 '11 at 21:03 rfrankel 121113 I had this happen to me a few months ago. PC A 2.8ghz gigabit ethernet to router to other PC B gigabit ethernet. Now from A to B it gives this error. But from B to A, it doesn't and allows for regular logins over RDC. Any ideas? I have already tried a terminal services regedit.. didn't work.. Because of an error in data encryption, this session will end. Please try connecting to the remote computer again. Cause: Data encryption provides security for data traveling over network connections. A data encryption error can end a session for security reasons. Solution: Try connecting to the remote computer again. Encryption policies can vary between systems and domains. If you continue to see this error message, contact the server administrator. That is Microsoft's Advice. I have tried restaring both PCs.. I have disabled both software firewalls, I have opened up the Remote desktop ports to both machines in the router... I don't get the pro
