Arcgis 010067 Error In Executing Grid Expression
import a ascii data to raster via the toll "ascii to raster", but a error is reported (ERROR 010067: Error in executing grid expression) during the conversion process. I open the ascii file by notepad, it seems that the header information is miss, but the data author claims that the file format is exactly correct. So I am wondering what is reason producing such error?OutcomesVisibility: Managing Data1898 ViewsLast modified on Jan 28, 2013 8:38 PMTags:imageryContent tagged with imagery_rasterContent tagged with _rastermanaging_dataContent tagged with managing_dataThis content has been marked as final. Thanks for your reply! I still could not open the ascii file via the arcgis conversion tool. do I need to modify the ascii file by adding the header information to the file? here is de demo of ascii file at the begining of the file:0.000000E+00 0.000000E+00 0.000000E+00 0.000000E+00 0.000000E+00the author of the data claims that it is exactly the right file structure " The *.asc you sent is the file structure. Get someone to help you on how to import ASCII into Arcgis. There are 360*180 (=64,800) lines in the file."S

This link shows an example of an ASCII raster file format that can be used in ArcGIS. I know that different software do produce their own formatted versions of an ascii and I believe that is the case with yours. You may have to do some data manipulation to get this ascii into a format that Arcgis can use. share|improve this answer answered Jul 29 '15 at 7:32 TsvGis 1,491627 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of servic

Report Content as Inappropriate ♦ ♦ HEC to GIS grid import error questions I completed a steady flow model on a tributary and its floodplain (to look at potential off-channel salmon habitats at 3 varied flows). I imported the model back into GIS, began the inundation mapping, and completed the water surface generation TIN. Then trying to do the floodplain delineation using the same model grid I inputted to start the GeoRAS data prep, I get an error message: Error 010316: unable to open input raster and then Error: 010067: Error in executing grid expression. These numbers offer no clarity from ArcGIS help. My raster GRID appears to be fine. Its not in a geodatabase, but is a standalone DEM raster. 2m sq pixels from a 2006 lidar data set. Any clues about the problem? Do I have to change the raster grid into a TIN so GeoRAS can turn it back into a raster (this seems odd)? Should I aggregate the input raster to 20m sq pixels similar to the pixel size it normally outputs when GeoRAS converts from TINs to rasters? Other suggested work-arounds? Thanks in advance. soroush Reply | Threaded Open this post in threaded view ♦ ♦ | Report Content as Inappropriate ♦ ♦ Re: HEC to GIS grid import error questions Hi Chris I have exactly the same problem for two or 3 weeks. Did you find the solution? I appreciate your response. Thanks Vince Moody Reply | Threaded Open this post in threaded view ♦ ♦ | Report Content as Inappropriate ♦ ♦ Re: HEC to GIS grid import error questions Soroush, Have you tried using RAS Mapper to generate your inundation maps? It's much more stable and user friendly than the cumbersome export to GeoRAS. You can even export grids to a stand-along raster, which you can open and view in GIS if needed. soroush Reply | Threaded Open this post in threaded view ♦ ♦ | Report Content as Inappropriate ♦ ♦ Re: HEC to GIS grid import error questions Thanks Vince for your comment. I have not tried it, because I need to see flooding maps in ArcGIS; and I though transferring from Ras mapper to GIS would be another scenario. If it is not a hard issue, maybe I should start that.
