For the raster file- a dsm with elevation data. They have the same projection and coordinate system But when I run the viewshed analysis I get this error: ERROR 010067: Error in executing grid expression. No valid Observation points present. This will show if it is a problem with the data or the attributes. –Matthew Snape Mar 14 '13 at 14:03 Hi @MatthewSnape, I did. It created an output but the only attributes in the point file are ID and shape. But I need to input the parameters for SPOT, offsets, azimuths, etc. The numbers I use are the values in my analysis. Is it in the type of the fields? –Spencer Mar 14 '13 at 14:55 Could it be a problem with capitalization? (e.g. "OFFSETA" vs. "offsetA") Add them back in one at a time and see which breaks the tool! (I'm looking forward to seeing the result of this, I am currently learning viewshed basics for an upcoming project and it's nice to know what might break...) –Erica Mar 14 '13 at 18:06 hey @Erica! yeah

I have a newbie question concerning the Viewshed Tool. When attempting to use this tool, I get the following error:Executing: Viewshed HW_Elec.asc Monuments2 C:\Users\scott\Desktop\GIS_20\DATA\project\Viewshe_HW_E1 1 FLAT_EARTH #Start Time: Thu Dec 09 08:35:41 2010ERROR 010067: Error http://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/54463/error-in-viewshed-arcgis in executing grid expression. No valid Observation points present. Point 222 with coordinates 0.000, 35657162752.000 is NODATA.Failed to execute (Viewshed)End Time: Thu Dec 09 08:35:42 2010 (Elapsed Time: 1.00 seconds)My "Input point or polyline observer features" is a shape file consisting of 222 geocoded points, all of which I have verified as having valid non-zero latitude and longitude values. So when the error https://geonet.esri.com/thread/18166 message refers to "Point 222 with coordinates 0.000, 35657162752.000", I don't know what it's talking about, since that Point is not in the file I have specified for input. My file has FID values ranging from 0 to 221.All parameters are defaults except for Extent, for which I have specified "Union of inputs".Any guidance on what I am doing wrong would be gratefully accepted. Many thanks.- ScottOutcomesVisibility: Spatial Analyst1551 ViewsLast modified on Dec 9, 2010 9:23 AMTags:analysisContent tagged with analysisspatial_analystContent tagged with spatial_analystThis content has been marked as final. Excellent. That was it. Once I projected my elevation data layer into the appropriate coordinate system, Viewshed began to cooperate.Thank you so much for that kick start.Cheers.Like • Show 0 Likes0 Actions Related ContentRetrieving data ...Recommended ContentScatter plot of two rastersGeoprocessing with JS API 4.0IdentifyTask removed in version 4.1. I am a bit confused. there are 20 ASC file as dsm. should I convert them to raster?! and should they be as one raster! another problem is probably with the point layer. I created this layer myself. and I did not assign any Z value to that points, because I do not know how to get the altitude of that point from the raster! –Raha1986 Dec 17 '15 at 13:53 | show 3 more comments active oldest votes Know someone who can answer?
