Request cancelled by the user when printing Crystal Report P: n/a Edward For reporting purposes I use Crystal Reports. The user can select a printer from a dropdownlist. I set the printer with: PrintOptions.PrinterName = @"\\SERVERNAME\" + lstPrinter.SelectedValue.Trim(); and use PrintToPrinter(1, false, 0, 0); to print. Now I get the message: Error in File C:\DOCUME~1\ASPNET\LOCALS~1\Temp\temp_f3d3ec6c-c2d9-47fc-90e5-b321c0f18873.rpt: Request cancelled by the user. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Please help. error when printing? Suddenly cannot print from within Actinic. I can print from NOTEPAD on this pc to another remote printer but get tis error suddenly when sending invoices to my regular printer. When trying to print from this pc to the invoice printer I get RPC Server not available error. Looked up several explanations for RPC and how to fix but none work. So Actinic says Request cancelled by user and Windows says RPC not available but the same pc will print to another printer from NOTPAD. I am a bit lost on this one. Thanks NormanRouxel09-Dec-2013, 05:27 PMTry to print, and from the Select Print Destination window, click Printer Setup and make sure a valid printer is selected. harpoonlouis09-Dec-2013, https://bytes.com/topic/asp-net/answers/319539-request-cancelled-user-when-printing-crystal-report 05:30 PMI just mamaged to print a sales report so it is the invoice printing generating the error not sure if that helps NormanRouxel09-Dec-2013, 05:34 PMDid you try my suggestion above on that dialogue? harpoonlouis09-Dec-2013, 06:35 PMYes I did that. I have acess to to wireless printers on the house so I sent a test print from notepad to both printers My back up printer was fine but my regular printer gave error message The RPC Server is http://community.sellerdeck.com/archive/index.php/t-54919.html unavailable I sent a sales report to both printers my back up was fine but my regular printer gave message Error in File\C:\Progarm Files\Actinic v7\Invoices.rpt | Request canceeled by the user. I tried invoices back up printer works but main printer gives Error in File\C:\Progarm Files\Actinic v7\Invoices.rpt | Request cancelled by the user. My Actinic install is running in XP Mode on an Oracle VM install on a Windows 7 Machine so the RPC call could be a different problem but... who knows with Windows A bit messy Mike Hughes10-Dec-2013, 07:52 AMA bit messy You can say that again. I'd strip things back to basic and run Actinic natively on Windows 7. If that doesn't work I'd think it might be time for an upgrade. In fact, given the potential for security holes in V7 I think it's probably time for an upgrade anyway. Mike Jan13-Dec-2013, 06:07 AMThat error message means that there is either a) a problem with your report b) a problem with the printer selected for the report within Sellerdeck. a) is not impossible but is rare, reports don't usually suddenly break - you can test this by renaming your invoices.rpt file and copying the orders.rpt file to invoices.rpt, if the report then prints then your invoices.rpt file is corrupt and you should get a clean copy from Sellerdeck b) is usually the reason, as Norman h

You should consider using IBM support for this problem, as it can happen due to many reasons (memory, configuration, report/s issue, fix pack installation/s and many other reasons.... –Ran Avnon Nov 10 '12 at 5:59 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote accepted This happens to me if I run a report, cancel it, then run the same report again. This is due to 'high affinity' getting confused and trying to reuse an process that has been cancelled. When I run the report for a third time it's fine. Does it only happen for a single report, all reports, some reports? How exactly do you reproduce the problem? If restarting the server is an issue you could just install two app servers and restart them one at a time, and your users will experience no down time at all. I don't think you will be able to solve it here but we can at least get you to think about stating your issue more clearly. share|improve this answer answered Nov 12 '12 at 1:02 Nick.McDermaid 7,43211642 Thanks. But it keeps happening for me on 3rd, 4th and subsequent attempts. On any report on the server. It is like once I have cancelled execution on one report, I cannot run any report at all. –Victor Nov 16 '12 at 22:07 If you are in a position to reconfigure the server, you could try temporarily setting 0 high affinity connections and only having low affinity instead. I suggest you try this to see if it removes the problem. However this is not a long term solution. You also need to consider why you are cancellin
