So i switched to jre, which is what I have now. I have openjdk6 and cannot reproduce the issue, what version of xorg are you running? And my Arch is up to date.And as far as uninstalling/reinstalling: I first installed the vanilla OOo. Then I uninstalled and then reinstalled it. Then I uninstalled it again and installed go-openoffice. Then I reinstalled that as well. None of that helped. (All dependencies were reinstalled as well (I used "pacman -Rnsu")).I also tried all that with both openjdk6 and jre. When I run the following script as a non root user or a user on my web server I get the errors below. When searching for a solution on this issue, I found a lot of references to the solution having to do with a .config file or a .libreoffice file. I installed libreoffice using apt-get install libreoffice. "man xhost" for details) while in terminal it is working perfect: cd /var/www/html/converter/ libreoffice --healdess -convert-to html resume.docx here it creates resume.html in my /var/www/html/converter/ i am new to linux and shell_exec... please help any suggestion or help would be a great help thanks in advance. php linux centos libreoffice shell-exec share|improve this question asked Apr 9 '14 at 20:50 Muhammad Sufiyan 73611338 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote Hi i have the same problem, i want to convert PDF's from DOCS created with PHP, i'm using OpenSuse 12.3 with LibreOffice, tried many things, finally i detect that the error is in folder: 1.- First check that you don't have disabled shell_exec in php.ini, and open_basedir don't restrict your access folders. 2.- Run the command as a simple user in shell (terminal) export HOME=/tmp && soffice --headless --convert-to pdf --outdir /srv/www/htdocs/ /srv/www/htdocs/Creecimientos/sic/app/webroot/usuarios/2/8_Pagare_CreePersonas.docx 3.- If it works, you only have to put the correct folders in your code, when i run this code in PHP, it show me a blank page, so i check the access_log of apache for
