We have been doing recently HTTP geocoding several times in the morning (8-10 am, Paris time) 2. The answer was a code 620 which implies that our programs overloads the server, even for a single query. 3. This behaviour magically disappears around noon, Paris time What is the expected output? Some other code (630?) with the meaning "Servers under maintenance - Please come back later" What do you see instead? 620 What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Doing HTTP queries from a php script, with "speed control" detecting codes 620 to slow down. But anyway, this fails at the first query Please provide any additional information below. "programmed" http queries done from the web server (as opposed to direct http queries done from the client's browser) could be directed to a different server. This server could then return a code (eg, 630) as well as an indication of the time to come back (eg, expected resuming time + some random value to avoid problems). Jan 16, 2008 #1 pamela.fox Did you try geocoding from a different IP at the same time to verify the 'server down' conclusion? I don't know of any current issues with our servers. Thanks! Jan 16, 2008 #2 Bernard....@gmail.com Hi Pamela, The API doc states that limitations are PER KEY, not per IP. < < The Google Maps API lets you embed Google Maps in your own web pages. A single Maps API key is valid for a single "directory" on your web server, so if you sign up for the URL http://www.mygooglemapssite.com/mysite, the key you get will be good for all URLs in the http://www.mygooglemapssite.com/mysite/ directory. See the API documentation for more information. You must have a Google Account to get a Maps API

I'm trying to lookup lats & lngs for a store locator and have been working with Google's Geolocator and their tutorial at http://code.google.com/apis/maps/articles/phpsqlgeocode.html, but can't http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9335290/google-geolocator-direct-url-works-status-code-620-when-using-simplexml-load-f seem to return anything other than the dreaded 620 Too many queries error. What's really strange to me is that if I copy my $request_url into a browser I get all the XML as expected, but using PHP's simplexml_load_file($request_url) always returns error code 620, no matter how long of a delay, no matter how many different API keys I use. Does anyone know what's up with this? Am I making some horrendous mistake? My code is below, please excuse extensive comments and echoes:

On what operating system? Windows XP/ Firefox 2.0.0.11 Please provide any additional information below. This was working fine on 01/29/2008. It is not working on 01/30/2008. I'm only trying to geocode a single error in geocoding address. I'm not making multiple queries in a short amount of time. Jan 30, 2008 #1 pamela.fox Are you geocoding through HTTP or GClientGeocoder? Either provide the query URL or a test page. Thanks! Jan 31, 2008 #2 stephen....@gmail.com I'm using HTTP. Was the service down yesterday? Thanks! Feb 1, 2008 #3 pamela.fox We're not aware of any issues with the service. Please let me know your IP address if this happens again so I can look into our logs. It's only stopped in the last week or so. Then I came across this (see the pink box at the top of the page!): https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/geocoding/v2/ I've read through all the documentation and not sure where to start! I'm hoping it's a small change as it's taken a long time to get this far, can anyone help? See the full site here This is my code: This is doing the geocoding:
