Re: "Compile Error in Hidden Module: Distmon" (MarkATS) Jan 30, 2007 1:40 PM (in response to (dork_92618)) Remove all instances of the PDFMaker.dot and PDFMaker.xla files from \Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office version/Startup folder and reinstall PDFMaker using the Help > https://forums.adobe.com/thread/300033 Detect and Repair menu option in Acrobat. The first part, remove the PDFMaker.* files, was on the MS support site. My Office Startup Folder didn't contain either of those files to begin with. I did the Repair option under the help menu but, that wasn't the cure. I wonder if it had something to do with my uninstall of v7 before my install of v8? I'm going to uninstall and reinstall v8. get the following error when you start Excel 2003 or Excel 2007: "Compile Error in Hidden Module: Distmon" Cause: The cause of this error http://www.itexperience.net/2008/08/21/compile-error-in-hidden-module-distmon-in-excel-2003-and-2007/ is PDFMaker.xla, which loads at startup. Solution: The easiest solution is to delete PDFMaker.xla from your computer. Since Adobe Professional 8 uses DLL-addins to add the toolbar in Excel, you can safely https://www.daniweb.com/hardware-and-software/microsoft-windows/threads/38102/visual-basic-error-on-word-and-excel-2003 delete the PDFMaker.xla file on your computer. PDFMaker.xla may be at one or more locations on your computers. Typically, PDFMaker.xla is stored in your profile directory: C:\Documents and Settings\

That should most likely fix the problem. 0 Discussion Starter Thinka 40 10 Years Ago I did try reinstalling Office, but no joy. That link you gave WlkingMan seemed to be talking about some really complicated stuff, i mean more complex than my sudden problem, because for a start I don't use MathType. Thanks though. Oh can't anybody, ANYBODY help me out here?! The error is so annoying cos it loks harmless, yet could possible develop into something bigger. 0 llopez704 10 Years Ago The errors are usually caused by an Adobe plugin. If you go to the XLStart folder in your profile (C:\Documents and Settings\"your login"\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLStart) and move the PDFMaker.xla out into the Excel folder, the errors will go away. 0 Davidasmithpe 5 Years Ago I have the same problem except it is only with Excel 2003.
