I have just done some of the possible solutions from microsoft website like creating sharedaccess.reg and merging to registry,calling "Setup API InstallHinfSection" function to install Windows Firewall.But none of them seems to have it solved.When I called installhinfsection, there was a rundll error that says "error in setupapi,missing entry:installhinfsection" I'm no clear with this,do I have to search for this file since this seems not to be found?Thanks a lot. I tried going to the start button and run then typed CMD and hit enter, I then I typed regsvr32 setupapi.dll and hit enter. I then got the caution message Setupapi.dll was loaded, but the DLL register server entry point was not found. This file can not be registered. What can I do to register this file? Some helpful program added the following to my registry: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\rundll32.exe] "Debugger"="C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\rundll32 setupapi.dll,s" I very carefully deleted this, and I now find the apropriate "rundll32" in the "System32" folder, and there is no attempt to load the "s" entry point. I have IE set up with automatic updates, and one of the symptoms of this problem has been an update for IE 7 that could not apply. I was able to upgrade to IE 8 and the "pending updates" cleared, but the problems with control panels did not go away. I am not going to say Internet Explorer did this to me, but ....
