Additionally I will be interested to see how it goes. TEA TIMER with many, indeed most other AV`s causes problems. However that will of course be resolved on the NEW (parallel) install As you are going to move https://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/1565bbd7-a53f-409f-b485-7a0748b240c4/geting-error-message-to-activate-windows?forum=genuinewindowsxp forward one way or another to a fresh install There is little to be lost in trying these 1. Start your computer in safe mode (use plain safe mode). Login using an administrator user account. If you could login to the hidden Administrator account, then use that. Go to Windows Start menu and open RUN. Or you can press on your keyboard the Windows key and letter R. Type CMD in the run textbox and click on OK. This will open the command prompt https://forums.techguy.org/threads/solved-cannot-activate-windows-xp-from-safe-mode-networking.1111160/page-4 window. Type these commands and press enter. Then click OK on each prompts : regsvr32 regwizc.dll regsvr32 licdll.dll Type this last command (type exactly as what you see here): rundll32.exe syssetup,SetupOobeBnk Wait for a couple of minutes because the last command will not show anything on the screen. However, it will reset the licensing components in the background. You may now restart your computer and you can log-on back to your normal Windows desktop screen. OR 2. rundll32.exe syssetup,SetupOobeBnk (and click OK) (note: one space, after "rundll32.exe " also the Oo are two letter o's in "oobe"; capitals and comma are important) - Delete LegitCheckControl.dll under C:\Windows\System32. that one is not a cmd it is go there to windows, then system 32, then scroll to the entry Ensure it is copied so that you may replace it, the easy way is to restore from recycle bin - Reboot I would not normally recommend you try - but at this stage there is little to lose I cannot vouch for either of them working but there really is little to lose YOU CAN COPY and paste of course rather than type, but I am sure you know that.
