[ subject ] [ author ] I am sorry if this comes across as harsh or unkind, but what heck have you guys done to your product. I have spend now over 24hs hacking at this and it is still not working. In previous versions, it just worked, now in the latest version 1.5.3 everything seem complicated for the sack of being complicated. I went from a working cups server completely integrated into my network https://access.redhat.com/solutions/1287243 on Saturday, to a cups server that only work locally after hacking at it for the past 24+ hours. This is my Conf file. =============================== # # # Sample configuration file for the CUPS scheduler. Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes #1 6th June 2011, 09:25 PM Lausanne Guest Posts: n/a Odd printing problem Hi everybody, after a fresh installation of F15, my Brother HL-2030 printer does not work anymore (means it worked fine with previous Fedora versions). As usual, I downloaded the proprietary drivers from the error in the Brother home-page [1] and installed them. Then, I configured the driver in my browser ('localhost:631'). The printer was correctly recognised (connection via USB). Printing the test page worked fine, but now, as usual user and as root, too, I am not able to print for example with Abiword, Gedit, Sylpheed and other applications. Strangely, using Firefox, I am able to print for example the Fedora forum or Distrowatch homepage, or some on-line newspaper articles, but I am not able to print a local HTML page (for example [2]). Furthermore, when trying to print a document in Abiword or Sylpheed, the printer warms up, but it does not print. If someone has an idea to solve my problem, please let me know - I would be very thankful! I've attached '/var/log/cups/error_log' (LogLevel debug) - perhaps it helps solving this problem. (The 'HL2030' diver was added automatically, and I removed it because it did not find any PPD file. The correct printer is called 'brother_hl-2030'.)
