It says "can't collect information". "Cannot access the Windows management instrumentation software." "Windows management files may be moved or missing." Checking the service shows it as start automatic, but it is stopped? Try to start it manually and I get the following error"Could not start windows management instrumentation service on local computer, error 999,error performing in page operation". How can I reload what ever is missing or turned off. I tried the microsoft web site but could not find the exact problem I am having. Eisland1, Dec 8, 2008 #1 Sponsor Claymore Joined: May 20, 2005 Messages: 2,548 Try this: Go to Services (Start => Run and type in services.msc) Make sure that the following Services are set to Automatic and Started Event Log Remote Procedure Call If they are, do this routine: Go to the command prompt (Start => Run => cmd) and type in: net stop winmgmt Close the window, go to Start => Run and copy/paste this line: rundll32 wbemupgd, UpgradeRepository In Explorer, navigate to C:\Windows\System32\WBEM\Logs Open the file "setup.log". Scroll to the end and see if you have something similar to this (date will be different): (Mon Apr 07 20:16:51 2008): ==================== (Mon Apr 07 20:16:51 2008): Beginning WBEM Service Pack Installation (Mon Apr 07 20:16:51 2008): Current build of wbemupgd.dll is 5.1.2600.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158) (Mon Apr 07 20:16:51 2008): Current build of wbemcore.dll is 5.1.2600.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158) (Mon Apr 07 20:16:53 2008): Wbemupgd.dll Service Security upgrade succeeded (XP SP update). Solved WMI Problems Posted on 2007-12-21 MS Server OS Windows XP MS Legacy OS 1 Verified Solution 5 Comments 16,982 Views Last Modified: 2013-11-21 I am having WMI problems. This originally came up while trying to install SMS Client. When https://forums.techguy.org/threads/solved-windows-management-instrumentation.777531/ trying to install the log shows the following errors: MSI: Setup was unable to create the WMI namespace CCM The error code is 8007007F ccmsetup MSI: Warning 25101. Setup was unable to delete WMI namespace CIMV2\SMS The error code is 8007007F ccmsetup I then tried rebuilding the WMI repository using the following command: rundll32 wbemupgd, UpgradeRepository When I try to run this I get the following error message: "Error in wbemupgd. https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/23038844/WMI-Problems.html Missing Entry: UpgradeRepository." This command has worked in several other computers that have had this problem. After this I stopped the WMI service and renamed the Repository folder in %windir%\system32\wbem. I then rebooted and tried the install again. Same errors. I checked the Event Log and found the following events in the Appplication Log: Event Source: WinMgmt Event ID: 28 Description: WinMgmt could not initialize the core parts. This could be due to a badly installed version of WinMgmt, WinMgmt repository upgrade failure, insufficient disk space or insufficient memory. ---- Event Source: Userenv Event ID: 1090 Description: Windows couldn't log the RSoP (Resultant Set of Policies) session status. An attempt to connect to WMI failed. No more RSoP logging will be done for this application of policy. ---- Event Source: MsiInstaller Event ID: 10005 Description: Product: Configuration Manager Client -- Error 25100. Setup was unable to create the WMI namespace CCM The error code is 8007007F I then did a repair install of Windows and got the same problem. After this was complete checked Event Log and had the following error: Event Source: Setup Event ID: 60055 Description: Windows Setup encountered non-fatal errors during installation. Please check the setuperr.log found in your Windows directory for more information. Checked the setuperr.log: Error: An erro
