I looked in the forums for ideas and tried erecovery and machine won't go beyond select safe mode and stops at: multi(0)disk...DRIVERS\agpCPQ.sys Any ideas? gcurn, Sep 13, 2010 #1 Sponsor Macboatmaster Trusted Advisor Joined: Jan 14, 2010 Messages: 16,351 When you say goes http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f10/error-in-writing-to-the-output-log-137778.html to chkdsk and repeats - if you mean it continually repeats chkdsk every time it is switched on then more than likely, the disk is failing, although there could be other more unlikely causes. If you have material on the computer which is important to you I recommend you either take out the hard drive and place it in an enclosure and then connect to another computer and recover your data OR if that https://forums.techguy.org/threads/xp-wont-boot-and-cant-start-erecovery.949731/ is not possible, for some reason, ie: you do not have an enclosure etc. then see if it will boot with this and if so post back http://www.ubcd4win.com/ If you go to the Acer link on this site select netbook Inspire One and then enter your specific model details you will find the restore details for your computer, but remember this will NOT save your data http://www.ehow.com/how_5833609_restore-acer-aspire-one-series.html Macboatmaster, Sep 13, 2010 #2 gcurn Thread Starter Joined: Sep 13, 2010 Messages: 5 Thanks for the quick response. On boot up, once check disk has completed 100% message says, no problems found, then says unable to write to log and repeats the sequence infinitely. I have tried to use the restore option for Acer netbooks but pressing alt/f10 has no effect and pressing f12 only displays the safe mode options. When safe mode is selected the screen displays about 50 lines in dos. The final line is: multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\agcCPQ.sys Then the screen freezes there with no cursor or other info...unable to continue without hard shutdown. gcurn, Sep 13, 2010 #3 Macboatmaster Trusted Advisor Joined: Jan 14, 2010 Messages: 16,351 1.
