What is the protocol you are trying

to use, http or file, or is it a relative address ? I assume that you meant something like http://cdnjs.cloud.... chrisc0 commented May 29, 2014 It's a protocol relative URL. See: http://www.paulirish.com/2010/the-protocol-relative-url/ It uses whatever protocol the current page is using, either http or https. mn4367 added UpstreamChangeNeeded PatchNeeded labels May 29, 2014 mn4367 commented May 29, 2014 Interesting, thanks. You could try to add --load-error-handling ignore to the command line but that invalid absolute uri probably prevents proper rendering of the document. Unless someone creates a PR this probably needs an upstream change in Qt/WebKit and therefore won't be fixed in the near future. chrisc0 commented May 29, 2014 OK, thanks. It's not a big deal. I did a search & replace on the html before it hits the wkhtmltopdf. I just wanted to bring it to someone's attention for the future. mn4367 commented May 29, 2014 OK, thanks. mn4367 closed this May 29, 2014 ashkulz added Duplicate and removed Duplicate PatchNeeded UpstreamChangeNeeded labels May 31, 2014 wkhtmltopdf member ashkulz commented May 31, 2014 Duplicate of #1634 which will be documented for the 0.12.1 release. mn4367 referenced this issue Aug 2, 2014 Closed error when convert a local html to pdf #1886 pztrick commented Oct 16, 2014 Is there any way this can be fixed to fall-back to http:// protocol? A lot of people can get burned by this (current company included!). Remote resources will typically be available over HTTP, the protocol relative URL is just often used to access over HTTPS so that EV-certified SSL sites can retain the nice green address bar banner or lock icon (for being extra secure). ...unless the protocol relative URL is used in some other use-case for resources NOT available over HTTP? sanmai commented Dec 23, 20
