5 inches, when the real length is 6 inches. Notice how the percentage of error increases as error in volume of cylinder the student uses this measurement to compute surface area and how to calculate percent error in volume volume. Measurement Compute Surface Area Compute Volume The side of a cube is measured. Measurement: 5 maximum possible error in measurement in. Actual size: 6 in. Percent of error = Surface area computed with measurement: SA = 25 • 6 = 150 sq. in. Actual surface area:
Maximum Error Formula
SA = 36 • 6 = 216 sq. in. Percent of error = Volume computed with measurement: V = 5 ³ = 125 cubic in.Actual volume: V = 6 ³ = 216 cubic in. Percent of error = rounded to nearest tenth. 2. A box has the measurements 1.4 volume error propagation cm by 8.2 cm by 12.5 cm. Find the percent of error in calculating its volume. ANSWER: Since no other values are given, we will use the greatest possible error based upon the fact that these measurements were taken to the nearest tenth of a centimeter, which will be 0.05 cm. Volume as measured: 1.4 x 8.2 x 12.5 = 143.5 cubic cm Maximum volume (+0.05) : 1.45 x 8.25 x 12.55 = 150.129375 cubic cm Minimum volume (-0.05): 1.35 x 8.15 x 12.45 = 136.981125 cubic cm Possible error in volume: Maximum - measured = 6.629375 cubic cm Measured - minimum = 6.518875 cubic cm Use the "greatest" possible error in volume: 6.629375 cubic cm Remember that percent of error is the relative error times 100%. The percent of error is approximately 5%. Topic Index | Algebra Index | Regents Exam Prep Center Created by Donna Roberts

How To Calculate Maximum Percentage Error
My old OSX installation on my old 2009 13" MacBook Pro didn't displayed any problem. It starts to get a little slower that usual and then, with no warning some apps start to http://www.regentsprep.org/regents/math/algebra/am3/LErrorD.htm become unresponsive, like web browsers , etc.I usually start with an inspection on Onyx to check for SMART report and volume integrity. It states SMART passed ok, but I need to repare the volume on the recovery partion' disk utility. After doing so for the 3rd time, it's getting a little old pretty fast... I'm now recovering to a full installation from within recovery https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4797932?tstart=0 partition to see if I can shake this out.You guys have any idea on what could be causing this? I do have a lot of apps installed, but it was never a problem before. HD failing (I had my fair share of Seagate failures in the past...)? Problem with ram? I tested all components on TechTool Pro, and everything was ok. I'm really frustrated, I need to work and my Mac is behaving... This was exactly the reason I quited MS products a couple years ago. Error description When expiration is running on the TSM Server, the custome frequently sees the following messages: . ANR9999D ASVOLACQ(5530): ThreadId<....> Error 262 getting volume name for volume .... ANR9999D ASVOLACQ(3711): ThreadId<18169> Error 262 checking repair state for volume .... . The problem occurs when expiration is attempting to return volume to scratch while another thread, in the customer's case session thread, attempts to acquire the same volume. . In the dump from the customer, the expiration "DeleteFilesThread created an "AsScratchDeleteThread" to return the volume t scratch state. This thread hold the SS_LOCK_VOLNAME lock for th volume in question. The thread is waiting for th AS_LOCK_VOLROOT lock. . The session thread is attempting to acquire the same volume bein returned to scratch by expiration. The session thread holds th AS_LOCK_VOLROOT lock and calls the function CheckRepairVol() t repair any orphaned segments. This function attempts to ge volume name. The storage service functions call to get th volume name require and attempt to get the SS_LOCK_VOLMANE fo the volume in question. Since the honoring of this request woul result in a deadlock, the TSM lock manager fails the request an an RC262, SSRC_LOCK_CONFLICT, is returned to CheckRepairVol().
