I'm trying to connect to an online server and I keep getting the error "Reading from the stream has failed." So today I tried to connect to a local server and it worked just fine, so the question is, what doesn't allow me to connect to an online server? This is my code Dim connStr error in reading = "Server = 000.000.000.00; Database = test; Uid = usertest; Pwd =password;" Dim cmd As MySqlCommand = New MySqlCommand() Using conn As New MySqlConnection(connStr) Try conn.Open() MsgBox("Connected") Catch ex As Exception MsgBox(ex.ToString) Finally conn.Close() conn.Dispose() End Try End Using The error I'm seeing: @Edit The server allows remote access and my IP is in the allowedlist mysql vb.net stream connection share|improve this question edited Jan 20 at 13:44 asked Jan 20 at 13:26 Gil Penner 62 Does the remote server allow remote connections. If yes, is your ip in the whitelist? –Lelio Faieta Jan 20 at 13:38 Yes, it does allow remote connections, in fact I tried on multiple computers and all of them have access, except the computers on the company I work for. I have my client configured for SSL at that seems to be doing it's stuff correctly. But when I tried to connect and access a URI, I get the message: Error reading entity from input stream which I presume is on my end, not PagerDuty's.
