After digging it out of the archives and loading the project onto an XP machine it is now running into problems. In the code I am trying to set an Excel.Worksheet object variable to the sheet object of an Excel.Workbook. Here's an example of the source code... Dim objSht2 As Excel.Worksheet Set objSht2 = objWkb.Worksheets(2) The above error message gets generated upon execution of the second line where I attempt error in loading to set the worksheet object. I am using OfficeXP and reference the "Microsoft Excel 10.0 Object Library" in the VB project. I know this is kind of obscure but does anyone have any ideas where I can start looking to try to track this error down? Thanks! Note code snippets posted are just that and do not include error handling that is required in real world applications, but avoid On Error Resume Next dim all variables as required as often i have done so elsewhere in my code but only posted the relevant part come back and mark your original post as resolved if your problem is fixed pete Reply With Quote May 6th, 2008,01:54 AM #3 si_the_geek View Profile View Forum Posts Super Moderator Join Date Jul 2002 Location Bristol, UK Posts 38,306 Re: "Error in loading DLL" msg when trying to set an Excel.Worksheet object I could be wrong here, but isn't "10.0" Office 2000? I need help: I have a visual basic 6 ".dll project" that uses references and when "File->Make dll" option is clicked, it should generate a dll file. Well, when clicked "File->Make dll", I get error "Error in loading DLL". My question is: how can I see which references are missing? vb6 share|improve this question edited Dec 20 '11 at 15:41 Lynn Crumbling 6,96953151 asked Dec 20 '11 at 13:48 Ivan 2612 Welcome. There's no need to put a signature on the bottom, it's already included just below your post. You amy want to check out the FAQ as well. –Deanna Dec 20 '11 at 13:54 Can't you step through the code and see where it is blowing up? –Mark Kram Dec 20 '11 at 14:37 No Mark, I cannot. "Step Over", "Step Into", "Start", "Start with full compile" - all of them return "Error in loading DLL" –Ivan Dec 20 '11 at 14:51 Does a compile work? –Deanna Dec 20 '11 at 15:07 Is this some specific option for vb6? Where can I find it? –Ivan Dec 20 '11 at 15:22 | show 6 more comments 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote Under Project -> References. Look for the word MISSING: in front of the dll's that aren't there. share|improve this answer answered Dec 20 '11 at 13:50 Lynn Crumbling 6,96953151 there are no "MISSING" labeled references, but when build, I get the mentioned error :( –Ivan Dec 20 '11 at 13:54 1 Do you have vs6 service pack 6 installed? If not, install it, and try one more time. –Lynn Crumbling Dec 20 '11 at 13:59 already tried, but without any success. Can you provide a link where you have downloaded it, please? –Ivan Dec 20 '11 at 14:06 Here's microsoft's download link: microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=9183 –Lynn Crumbling Dec 20 '11 at 14:07 Tried with this one too, but without success. The problem still persists. –Ivan Dec 20 '11 at 14:25 add a comment| up vote 2 down vote I've seen
