The associated items include work data sets which are managed by changeman. In a typical change request the following can be the associated members 1) Source Code2) Copy changeman sync errors Books3) Load Modules4) DBRM libraries5) Service request6) JCL When a change man package is created, it creates a set of data sets to store all the associated items or termed as COMPONENTS. The data sets are usually a Partitioned Organization ones with a unique naming convention. All the changeman controlled data sets will have a high level qualifier as OIN1. The data set will be something like PICM.CP000000.OIN1. #NNNNNN.??? ,where #NNNNNNN is the Changeman package number which the item or component is associated, and ??? is the associated member or component type. Project Pneumonic: Within the Package Master, HOUSEHOLD has divided work up by ‘Project Mnemonics'. Projects have been used to divide change management by application support groups like HLFG, OIN1 etc. There is internal security within CM that allows specifically named components to belong only to one project. For example, a payroll source member may be secured so that only payroll projects Pneumonic are authorized to access it. There are different stages before installing the package and they are DEVelopment, PROmtion, AUDit trailing, FReeZing, APProval etc. When a package is created it will be in DEV status, once the modules/programs are checked into the package and promoted to test, the package will be in promote status. AUDit trailing will be done for that package to make sure that every

I full promoted it before Aug 25 and waiting for my supervisor to approve and install. But my supervisor missed the date and when he try to approve on July 10, he got error that the package installtion date expired. And when I try to demote and change the installation date I got a demote error. The reason is also error in installation date expired. Could you please tell me how to change the installation date when the package is already promoted and the installation date expired? davib y Posts: 1Joined: Wed Sep 10, 2008 1:50 pm Hasthanked: 0 time Beenthanked: 0 time Top Re: Package cannot demote when installation date expired Top Re: Package cannot demote when installation date expired by rajithr007 » Wed Sep 24, 2008 11:31 pm Hi Davib,Change the installation date by using "U7" in front of error in changeman the PKG. And then you can approve the pkg if you still want to move the code to production ( i think the code will be demoted automatically when it is baselined if there is no customization). else you can demote the pkg aft changing the date.. if u want any more info pls feel free to PM me.. rajithr007 Posts: 13Joined: Thu Sep 11, 2008 11:31 am Hasthanked: 0 time Beenthanked: 0 time Top Re: Package cannot demote when installation date expired by MNevarez » Wed Oct 29, 2008 8:35 pm Hi Davib,There are a few ways for you to change the install date. 1) you can perform a selective unfreeze of the package in question by entering "F3" in front of the package then a "U" next to online category. Now if you still receive "INSTALL DATE ERROR" message you can then 2) go to "M" (Monitor) at the primary option panel click on "1" (Limbo), then enter the package number, then next to the package enter "CD" but do not press enter yet until you change the date. Then press enter. And yes, when baselining a package the last place the package was will get cleaned up.Hope this helps.
