Description AndezFernandez 2011-01-12 12:58:12 UTC I am getting the java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError once I have compiled my project and click on https://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=194263 the debug button to start debugging it. This only seems to happen to me (on 6.9.1) out of our developers. The others are on earlier versions of netbeans. It keeps happening quite a lot in my main project we work on, although even with a simple application (one class) it has occured. The only resolution I have is to move package folders from my source, build and let it fail, then move them back in to it. It is not specific source files - I have to chop and change the files by trial and error before it starts running again. This is really frustrating. Clean and build never resolves this issue once it starts happening. The debug output is as follows: Output: debug: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: SentinelCore/Sentinel Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: SentinelCore.Sentinel at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:202) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:190) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:307) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:301) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:248) Could not find the main class: SentinelCore.Sentinel. Program will exit. Exception in thread "main" Java Result: 1 BUILD SUCCESSFUL (total time: 2 seconds) Comment 1 AndezFernandez 2011-01-12 13:03:20 UTC Following on from the above instance... If I

The issue is appearing from time to time, sometimes after I redo the classpath scan the issue is gone, and my project is working, sometimes it doesnt help. Sometimes after I recompile the whole project I get classnotfound on another class. It is completely unpredictable but happens extremely often and is unimaginably annoying. error in It is that annoying that I am considering switching to another IDE. I know that missing classes are in the jar. A second ago I got a problem which might be related issue: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.RuntimeException: Uncompilable source code - missing method body, or declare abstract I suppose that this is as random as the previous one. Both errors mention only classes that are in the project that is being developed, NOT no class definition any external classes, so it is not related to me not linking libraries. I have been developing in netbeans for several years and have never met this problem before. I am using netbeans ver 6.9(Build 201006101454) I would be thankful for any insight, or hints, regarding this problem regards, Bartosz EDIT: I upgraded netbeans to 6.9.1 and uploaded all updates. At first the issue was still present, but after forcing classpath scan it went away. Time will tell whether it is gone for good. EDIT 2: The issue is also present in the newest netbeans (6.9.1)... I just had a very frustrating time figure out my own NoClassDefFoundError problem, running a NetBeans 6.9.1 project that was using an open-source library (opencsv). My code ran fine before adding the library to the mix. I could also do "Run File" from the IDE with test code using the library. Turns out the problem happened because my app consists of several different Projects (call them A and B) and one of them didn't have the proper references to the library. Project A is set as the "Main Project", and
