Why am I paying Norton when I can't use it I ask myself ! I'll try putting it back when the sending is sorted out. I just tried changing my outgoing from smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk to smtp.freeserve.net and the mail went out. Is this something that I should not have done???? I don't understand why all was well before and out of the clear grey sky it went loco. So, what do you think? megabyte, Apr 30, 2004 #3 jwbirdsong Joined: Nov 6, 2002 Messages: 710 I didn't catch the UK on the yahoo address 1st time around...Do you actually have the paid pop3 access from Yahoo?? Cuz for the longest time here in the States we could get free pop3 access to our yahoo mail with that account...But yahoo has gotten hip to that so if Yahoo is the only service you are having problems w/ my guess is it's a move by yahoo to stop more free pop3 access..Try YahooPops if that's the case As far as why ANYONE would pay for Norton to begin with is beyond me. That's NOT a comment of you at all; just directed at Norton..IMO there are MUCH better/cheaper(even free) alternatives out there.

There are a few circumstances where the SSL option is not compatible, so try this: on the Advanced tab of the account properties, unselect SSL, then change the receiving port to 110, and the sending port to 587. -- Gary VanderMolen [MS-MVP WLM] "Laurie"
