and up until 2 weeks ago didn't have any problems, then I started getting an error message when sending emails "The SMTP Server responded with an error. (Account 'alan.btinternet.com', SMTP http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/livemail-email/the-smtp-server-returned-an-error-error-code/826606e3-a3b5-4fb1-960d-6bee68bed470 Server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Error Number 0x800ccc60.I contacted my ISP who changed my outgoing server in Microsoft Outlook to 'smtp.mail.yahoo.ca' and this allows me to send emails, which would indicate to me that my Microsoft Outlook set up is ok.I am keen to find out why my original setting using the outgoing server 'mail.btinternet.com' suddenly stopped working because I think this may https://webservices.thesba.com/forum/index.php?topic=31384.0 be a problem within my ISP.My ISP insists that the problem is with my Micorsoft outlookAnyone got any ideas or views?Thanx Logged Ben Amada Sr. Member Posts: 812 Karma: +52/-3 Microsoft Outlook error 0x800ccc60 « Reply #1 on: March 12, 2007, 11:38:06 AM » A couple of things to check.1. In Outlook, your User Name should be: alan@btinternet.com -- not just "alan".2. Try changing your SMTP port for that email account to 8889 instead of the standard 25. You'll want to also change your mail server back to mail.btinternet.com when you try this. The error message said you have too many connections connecting with the same username. A family member connecting at the same time? Disable the other connection, and you should be able to send. If you are not connected with more than one connection, call and ask for a Tier 1 tech (a serpervisor type with more knowledge).
