Error Number 0x800ccc7b
error code 0x800CCC7C Quote Postby Smurf » Tue Nov 29, 2005 11:00 pm We 0x800ccc7c outlook error have a single user reporting problems sending email via ME SMTP. It was all working fine until suddenly all machines (Outlook and Thunderbrid) report the following when sending; Task 'IMAP - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC7C): ' Your outgoing(SMTP) server requires an SSL-secured connection.' The server responded: 530 thor.xxx.com ESMTP MailEnable Service, Version: 0--1.1 denied access at 11/28/05 23:46:58' Obviously, SSL is not supported by ME. We have not made any changes to the SMTP setup and are running the latest fix. A search in Google and the ME Forum and KB return nothing. Any suggestions on what can be causing this error? This was resolved by removing the users IP address from the SMTP-DENY.TAB Top paarlberg Posts: 1071 Joined: Tue Mar 02, 2004 7:33 pm Location: Atlanta, GA, USA Quote Postby paarlberg » Wed Nov 30, 2005 10:07 am Does the client have a static IP? If so, I would want to determine why it was added to the list for security reasons. when trying to send: "The serverrequires a SSL connection...,Error Number: 0x800CCC7C"My settings have not changed and http://microsoft.public.win98.internet.outlookexpress.narkive.com/Rj1LRtkh/cannot-send-email-error-number-0x800ccc7c these settings work fineon my other computer so I know it's not an ISP issue. Michael Santovec 2004-01-31 02:33:06 UTC PermalinkRaw Message The error message suggests that in OE at Tools, Accounts, Mail, Properties, Advanced, youneed to select the SSL option for the error number SMTP mail server..If that doesn't fix the problem, the full text of the error message would help. Thatincludes the server name, server type, port number, socket error code, SSL, etc. For bestresults, copy/paste the error message rather than retyping it. You should be able error number 0x800ccc7c tohighlight the message text in the error window (hold down the left mouse button whiledragging the mouse over the text). Then press Ctrl-C (hold down the Ctrl key whilepressing the C key) to copy the highlighted text to the Windows clipboard. You can thenpaste that text into the problem description using the Ctrl-V key combination.--Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htmPost by MichaelI receive email fine, but cannot send it.
