EDIT It is also worth noting that this can be caused by a full ramdisk when doing things like altering a large table if you have a ramdisk configured. You can temporarily comment out the ramdisk line to allow such operations if you can't increase the size of it. share|improve this answer edited Mar 20 '15 at 18:27 Justin Warkentin 3,64931727 answered Dec 8 '11 at 16:48 Monsters X 1,7651917 3 Also I have about 2Gb free space and get this error. EDIT: Server_01 # cd /var/lib/mysql ; ls -lR | grep -c "\.frm$" 1876765 but this also happened on server with much less tables: Server_02 # cd /var/lib/mysql ; ls -lR | grep -c "\.frm$" 49514 I was using this query to list all databases but as it didn't work with tmpfs I've just replaced it with simpler one (SHOW DATABASES...). I was watching disk space on /tmp mounted with tmpfs and there still was a plenty of space so I'm not sure how it could run out of space? Basically I've got a problem with logical backups on the server with ~8000 DBs - it takes many hours (~24) to complete this task. I've created a simple BASH script (please see below) and instead of mysqldum
Incorrect keyfile MySQL error: SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 126 Incorrect keyfile November 11, 2014 Yannick Warnier Leave a comment Go to comments If you ever get this kind of error: SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 126 Incorrect key file for table '/tmp/#sql_3aef_0.MYI'; try to repair it without an internet connection… you are in a bad place :-) The error message is very unclear about the issue. The problem is actually (most of the time) that the partition that holds the /tmp folder is too small to store a temporary table (for a big permanent table). This triggers an error at building the temporary table (or part of it) and shows you this error. To fix, edit you /etc/mysql/my.cnf file (or rather /etc/mysql/conf.d/local.cnf if you're clean) and locate (or add) the tmpdir directive. Change it from /tmp to /var/tmp, for example, and restart MySQL. Fixed! If you're using local.cnf, don't forget to add the [mysqld] line before the setting itself.
