Automation Error Server Threw Exception Vba
All, I've got a VB app that populates a Word Document template and then optionally saves. I'm using late binding (as I've found with multiple examples here on the forum) and the populated document prints fine, but when the user attempts to save they get the automation error. I don't get it on my machine however, but my customer gets this error on multiple workstations. Here's some code snippets: vb Code: Dim oApp As ObjectDim oDoc As ObjectSet oApp = CreateObject("Word.Application")Set oDoc = oApp.Documents.Open(App.Path & "\docs\template.dot"){bunch of code to populate form fields}lintresult = MsgBox("Save Document?", vbYesNo, "Save as Word Document")If lintresult = vbYes Then flowprnt.CDSave.DefaultExt = "doc" flowprnt.CDSave.InitDir = "c:\program files\appname\docs" flowprnt.CDSave.ShowSave If LTrim(flowprnt.CDSave.FileName) <> "" Then oDoc.SaveAs FileName:=flowprnt.CDSave.FileName, FileFormat:=wdFormatDocument End IfEnd If this fails on the odoc.saveas line. Thanks in advance for any help!!! m. Last edited by Hack; Apr 11th, 2008 at 01:33 PM. Is your customer in your building? 2. Does the initdir path exist on all machines? 3. If it does, does everyone using it have write access to the save folder? I hope VB6 ,word expert http://stackoverflow.com/questions/28346471/error-2147417851-method-of-object-failed-in-vb6-with-word-2003 could help us in this. We have our code in VB6. There is a functionality in the code in which we send the word documents to client/users through the code. Word documnets have bookmarks in them. During send operation code creates word object, generates the bookmarks in the ActiveDocument and send it to client. However, users are getting below error while sending the documents. We have tried tried users scenarios in our local machines the error does not get reproduced. Below is the error description through the log for the user.
