Solved SQL 2005 Service Pack 3 Install Failure - MSP Error: 29534 Posted on 2009-03-18 MS SQL Server 2005 1 Verified Solution 7 Comments 2,871 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-06 I'm trying to install the latest SP to our SQL 2005 Ent. x64 box, but getting an error when it comes to updating the Database Services. It is installing all the other SQL products just fine. I'm trying to install SP3(v9.0.4035) from RTM(9.00.1399). We are in a clustered environment and it is updating the Passive server with no issues, but it is the Active server that is giving me problems. When I run the SP3 install, it appears to update the Database Services, but gets hung when it goes to start the services back up. It even shows the updated version in SSMS. I get the following error in the Summary log: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Product : Database Services (MSSQLSERVER) Product Version (Previous): 4035 Product Version (Final) : Status : Failure Log File : C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\LOG\Hotfix\SQL9_Hotfix_KB955706_sqlrun_sql.msp.log Error Number : 29534 Error Description : MSP Error: 29534 Service 'MSSQLSERVER' could not be started. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services. The error code is (1053) The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am logged in as the Administrator using the administrator credentials to install the service pack. I will add that the SQL services are running under the account "doubletake" and it has admin and domain admin rights. I have also tried to install the service pack with the doubletake credentials, logged into windows as administrator, but to no avail. I'm wondering if I need to log into the server as doubletake and try the install?? I've attached the hotfix

Here it goes: I have a Java program the creates an Excel workbook and writes data to it, the Java program works fine, I'm trying to import the program http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21653523/ora-29534-referenced-object-cannot-be-resolved-loadjava-error into Oracle using the LOADJAVA utility with the resolve option but I keep getting this error: ORA-29534: referenced object HR.org/apache/poi/hssf/usermodel/HSSFWorkbook could not be resolved The following operations failed I previously loaded all necessary jar files using the LOADJAVA utility including poi-3.8-20120326, poi-ooxml-3.8-beta5 ,poi-ooxml-schemas-3.8-20120326,xmlbeans-2.3.0 ,dom4j-1.6.1. Has anyone encountered this, can you tell me how to resolve this? I appreciate your assistance. oracle loadjava share|improve this question edited Feb 9 '14 at 10:59 APC 87.1k1384184 asked Feb 9 '14 at 0:18 user188606 62 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote The "could not be resolved" means the class in question won't compile. Mostly likely because one of those other jars itself couldn't be resolved. Did you check the LOADJAVA output for those jars too? You might have other ORA-29534 errors and perhaps one or more ORA-29521 errors: that one's helpful because it will point to some dependent class which you haven't loaded. Alternatively you could try the -genmissing argument when you call LOADJAVA. Find out more. share|improve this answer answered Feb 9 '14 at 15:23 APC 8

Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services. The error code is (1067) The process terminated unexpectedly."I know the account that is logged and runs the services is the same and is a local Admin (server in a workgroup). Anyone seen this?ThanksA. Try changing your login to an account that has those permissions.
