Error log record number: 1294350130169 Cause Usually, it is caused by calling incompatible classes in themes, extensions or templates, database connectivity https://kb.magenting.com/content/24/37/en/magento-there-has-been-an-error-processing-your-request.html issues or resource shortage (i.e. insufficient diskspace or PHP memory_limit option). Troubleshooting The Error log record number shown on the report is just a randomly generated filename, where the actual report data was saved to. Since Magento 1.4 version all error reports are dumped into files by default, rather than showing them right away in browser to every visitor. To check the generated report you need to login to your Store via FTP or Filemanager, navigate to var/report directory and open the file, named as the error log record number shown on the error page: The report will provide futher information (it is just a plain text file), the first string in the report is the most important one. When you see the actual error message, you can look for the solution by narrowing down search results. If the error report gives no clue, to solve the issue please use the following steps: Clear cached Magento data Disable Magento Compiler One by one, disable recently installed modules by changing a quick overview of the site Help Center Detailed answers to any questions you might have Meta Discuss the workings and policies of this site About Us Learn more about Stack Overflow the company Business Learn more about hiring developers or posting ads http://magento.stackexchange.com/questions/25386/there-has-been-an-error-processing-your-request-but-no-var-report-directory with us Magento Questions Tags Users Badges Unanswered Ask Question _ Magento Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for users of the Magento e-Commerce platform. Nothing was ever wrong, now all of a sudden this morning I get an error on ALL pages frontend and admin: There has been an error processing your request Exception printing is disabled by default for security reasons. Error log record number: 189535875249 I have tried following the instructions here and here but it seems this is for a different version of Magento as I do not have var/report. So I have no error processing your idea where to even check this specific error but from everywhere I can see I need to manually create a tmp folder and edit some core code. I guess some Magento developer decided havint the install create the correct directories was not important and the better solution was to crash people's frontend a few days after install with no warning. Can anyone tell me where the var/report has been moved? error magento-1.9 share|improve this question edited Mar 24 at 16:20 fschmengler 31.8k1163185 asked Jun 28 '14 at 15:41 RKS 1872513 Please add some error log in the question, you can find file "189535875249" under "var/report" directory using FTP detail or look into "var/log" directory. –Kamal Jun 28 '14 at 15:50 2 If you do not have a var/report then your var/ isn't writeable by the webserver and that's very likely your exception problem to begin with. Investigate why suddenly var isn't writeable (the installer checks if it is). –Melvyn Jul 23 '14 at 19:44 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 4 down vote You can see the error in browser (if that's what you want to do) by renaming errors/local.xml.sample to errors/local.xml . The exceptions with traces will be shown in browser then. share|improve this answer answered Jun 28 '14 at 16:00 LDusan 446620 Leaving this enabled on a live e-commerce server breaks PCI-DSS by displaying system stack-traces in plain view to anyo been an error processing your request. May 18, 2010 Vedran Subotic Debugging, Magento 16 Comments Are you sick and tired of scrolling you browser when you get Magento error, trying to read and trace it? Here is a post of my colleague Ivan Weiler which describes how to enable error information in latest Magento. This is a screenshot of my browser when I get Magento error: I don't need to search for report file and open it in a text editor. It's clear and readable. All you need to do is to little modify error reporting file which is in your: "/report/skin/default/index.phtml" file. And you can style it as you wish. Here is how my "/report/skin/default/index.phtml" file looks like: < !DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <title>Error Submission Formtitle> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/> head> <body class=" customer-account-create"> <div class
