Most importantly a new set of public APIs have been created for reporting failures other than application crashes and hangs.[4] Developers can create custom reports and customize the reporting user interface. The new APIs are documented in MSDN. The architecture of Windows Error Reporting has been revamped with a focus on reliability and user experience. WER can now report errors even when the process is in a very bad state for example if the process has encountered stack exhaustions, PEB/TEB corruptions, heap corruptions, etc. In earlier OSs prior to WindowsVista, the process usually terminated silently without generating an error report in these conditions. I don't know if this error reporting is the result of the SP2 install or if it began with the upgrade to MSNv9.10. I get this Error Reporting message each time I try and close MSN and once I let it complete it's report and asks me if I want to report it, no matter what I click on ("Tell MSN windows error reporting about this" or "Don't tell"), it will persist in coming back on, until finally it will stop. Do I really need it? Is there a way of disabling it? I don't know what or, even if, there is an error to report but it seems more troublesome than it's worth.
