Checked with my sys admin to check for space on the hard disk, we rant out of space. Made space and ran the job it was successful. That fixed. Regards... Make sure that the SQL Server service accunt has Modify permissions to this folderEdwin Sarmiento SQL Server MVP Blog | Twitter | LinkedIn Wednesday, February 09, 2011 9:20 PM Reply | Quote Moderator 0 Sign in to vote Hi, Thanks for your response. Can you check to seeif you have VDI errors in the SQL Server log also? What version of litespeed and canyou post your call? Are you using the maintenance plans that are created in the console? or just calling xp_backup (or however it is) If this problem persists and you have a suport agreement with Litespeed, I would contac them. They also have forums that you can post the entire message to.Ted Krueger Blog on lessthandot.com @onpnt on twitter Please click the Mark as Answer button if a post solves your problem! I have enough RAM to create the matrices, but when I try to save them, it gives the error: ??? Error using ==> save Can't write file dailymeantemp.mat. error saving data According to this, http://www.mathworks.com/support/solutions/data/1-1QATRJ.html?product=ML&solution=1-1QATRJ it is because I have insufficient disk space; however, I have about 100GB of free disk space and the matrices are only about 35MB each (4 matrices total). I seem to be able to save them if they are only 23MB but as soon as I increase the size I cannot. Even after the error has come up, and the matrices are still in my workspace, I cannot save them. any ideas? thanks Subject: saving problem - "can't write file" From: Steven Lord Steven Lord (view profile) 10599 posts Date: 28 Jan, 2009 04:32:42 Message: 2 of 3 Reply to this message Add author to My Watch List View original format Flag as spam "Laurent "
Re: st: File cannot be save error message. Problem with xml_tab and log using. Date Tue, 23 Jun 2009 12:28:09 -0400 In the thread he refers to, Eric explains that likely causes are: "(1) your computer/OS is capriciously setting your file with a read-only attribute (as Nick points out, this can happen with Windows XP) or (2) when Stata tells the OS to write the file to myfile_happ.txt, the OS is moving too slowly, Stata moves on to the next loop and tries to write again, but the file is read- only because it is still being written to by the OS (or BOTH (1) and (2) are happening)." I had a similar experience a few weeks ago, and the problem was akin to #2. I use Windows Live Sync (WLS), which maintains file synchronization on multiple computers. In one instance, I was getting errors because Stata was writing a file and then trying to overwrite the file faster than WLS could lock, copy, and unlock it. I wonder if Amadou is having problems for similar reasons (some sort of file sharing program). Michael Eric A. I have put a cd "" on the top of the do file before running the code, so basically, I shouldn't have the problem. The folder I am saving is a sub directory in "My Documents", that is "My Documents/Data". But when I right-clik on the Data folder to check its properties, I see that folder is read-only. I remove the read-only button check and re-run the stata code, but when I check again later the folder turns back to "read-only". Very frustrating !!! I am the owner of the laptop.
