I have a problem on one of the HLB sites and one of the other sites. We have an archiving service installed on a standalone server on each site which uses EWS to access Exchange mailboxes. It works perfectly on 4 sites but not the other 2. As part of the troubleshooting I ran test-OutlookWebServices -identity: error when contacting user1@domain.com which returned the errors below. I did an iisreset and ran it again, everything was successful. I run it a third time and I get the same error output. Iisreset resolves it but it always reverts to the error after a single successful run. This is true for both problematic sites. All the Exchange servers are in the proxy bypass list for IE. I have checked the EWS virtual directory under IIS and this is set to use Windows authentication and basic authentication. From some Windows clients using IE to browse to the Autodiscover URL I get prompted for Windows credentials. Any ideas on what is wrong or how I can troubleshoot this? in Exchange Server 2010 Discussion in 'Using Outlook' started by Krish455, Nov 9, 2010. Previous Thread Next Thread Loading... 0/5, 0 votes Krish455 Guest We have Exchange Server 2010 setup on Windows Server 2008 R2 OS. The outlook email accounts were moved from pop to exchange. We have two email user domains connecting to the server: user@domain1.com and user@domain2.com connecting to mail.domain1.com. Now we are having issues with OOF and OAB in Outlook 2007 and 2010. For the OOF, i get the following message " Your Out of Office Settings Cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable. Please try again later." And when i try to download the OAB i get this 15:08:40 Synchronizer Version 12.0.6539 15:08:40 Synchronizing Mailbox 'Bret Tipton' 15:08:40 Done 15:08:41 Microsoft Exchange offline address book 15:08:41 Not downloading Offline address book files. A server (URL) could not be located. 15:08:41 0X8004010F Now here is what i have tried so far, 1. I tried the fix for OOF from this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/970123 2. I tred the fix for OAB from this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939765 None of these could solve the issue, i was having. I went on reading through different articles on the issues and tried this on the EMS " Test-OutlookWebServices" and found errors which said. 1. Error contacting RPC/HTTP service at https://internalurl/rpc 2. When contacting https://externalurl/rpc received error The remote server returned an error. <503> Server Unavailable I have looked at many options going into my IIS-Default Web Site and checking if there are any .net 2.0 framework issues and tried to see if there any installed in my windows features and programs and found none. Did anyone experience the same issues? Please let me know a possible fix to this, have been working on this for long. Thanks Nov 9, 2010 Flag Post #1 Share Sembee [MVP] Guest You have two different issues there. OAB error means cannot find. Primary cause for that is having public folders configured as a distribution system but no OAB public folders in place, often because they are not replicated from an older Exchange server. If OOTO isn't working, then that is connected to the availability service. Availability is also autodiscover. Therefore I
