Panasonic F61 Error Fix
City & State: Menorca My Country: Spain Line Voltage: 230V 50Hz I'm a: Professional Tech panasonic error f61 problem Posts: 168 Panasonic SA-AK330 repair, error F61 on display This compact HiFi system shows error "F61" on display as soon as f61 error code technics its turned on, and then it shuts off at once. Its a quad amp with High-Low separated outputs, with a very expensive and hard to find RSN315H42C AMP IC. From Service Manual one can read that
Panasonic Sa-ak640 F61 Error
F61 error is related to power amp (DC detected in output...), but from own experience with Panasonic audio equipment I know that it can be a problem with cooling fan too. Ive found similar issues with SA-AK250, SE-CH770, SE-CA1080... and its never just a single cause, as SM insists its only "Power Amp output abnormal". Easy to check: just disconnect cooling fan, raise volume up to -14dB and F61 triggers immediately.
Audio Output Ic Panasonic
Its a 2 wire 12VDC fan, but the driver circuit is able to detect its presence and if its turning or not. Common in Panasonic. The odd thing is that after partial disassembling, F61 error disappears and audio output is normal. Cooling fan seems fine. After some tests i decide to reassembly it and return to the customer, but then problem shows up again! Then I discover that it only fails when CD loader/changer is connected. F61 related to CD? WTF? Checking this part with detail I detect that CD spindle/sled/focus/tracking driver IC7003 (AN8739SB) has been getting hot for years, as the PCB is "browning" below it. Most importantly, CD +7.5V is barely 3V. C7614 (CapXon 100F/6,3V, close to IC7003) shows abnormaly high ESR and decoloration due to heating, but its not directly related to +7,5V. C7334 (Panasonic 220F/10V) is related to +7,5V but it doesnt look bad. I replace both anyway, with no change in voltage. I isolate +7,5V from IC7003 and voltage doesnt improve. Down to the power supply I get to D5805 and D5807 (1N4003S). D5805 has 9V OK, but D5807 has 9V on Anode and just 3V on Catode. Replace it and +7,5V is OK, CD works and no F61 anymore. Ill test if for some days before returning

THIS WAS AFTER I TRIED TO CONNECT EXTRA SPEAKERS TO THE SPEAKER OUTLET. Submitted: 7 years ago. Category:Consumer Electronics Share this conversation Expert: Robert replied7 years ago. Hello,Could you describe exactly how many speakers you had connected, and how the speakers wires for each one were connected?Thank you,Bob Ask Your Own Consumer Electronics Question Customer: replied7 years ago. There panasonic sa - were the two that were supplied with the system, then I went to hook up a wireless set of speakers for outside. I connected the wireless transmitter wires with the speaker wires and put then in the speaker outlet on the back of the system. There are a set of wires for two speakers coming out of the transmitter, giving a total of four, double the normal amount.Customer/p> Expert: Robert replied7 years ago. OK,This is called connecting speakers "in parallel". Basically, when you double the speakers, you quadruple the amount of current needed to drive those speakers. This current is supplied by an output IC (a large microchip inside the unit), which isn't designed to handle that kind of load. The "f61" error indicates a failure in the amplifier section of the system - most likely a shorted output IC. This output IC typically costs about $50. You can probably expect a repair bill of around $150 - $180. Sorry about the bad news.
